My scheduled day for pickup is Friday. They picked up my trash but not recycle. I left message with answering service on Saturday and was told I'd receive callback, which I didn't. Monday I called and was told they would pick it up on Tuesday which they didn't but I did receive callback from my Saturday message. I was told I'd receive a call with ETA for pickup which I didn't. Wednesday I called again and was told they would be there before 7 PM. It's now 10:30 and still no show. One of the most unprofessional businesses I've ever dealt with. Lot of promises but no action. Wish I had a choice of service but my HOA chose this one. Never had this problem with the old service.Review from Joshua F

If I could rate them worse than 1 star I would. Service termination without notice: We were sent an email on November 20th about having an outstanding bill with them. I called that same afternoon, got the bill handled and asked them to put me on auto pay. The email referenced an incorrect address which is why we had not received any correspondence from them. The person on the phone (*******************************) said she was going to update our address and *********** pay setup. Since we are billed quarterly, I didn't think anything of not getting a bill from them since November 20th was only a couple months ago.Come to find out, not only was I not setup on auto pay like I was told on the phone, but they claim a bill was sent out (who knows what address it was sent to) and a notice of termination of service which I also did not receive. As was confirmed on a phone call with one of the managers named ****, the last email that was sent out was from November, so they also abruptly stopped sending any email notifications. When I called back in to find out why our cans were being collected, they told me my services had been terminated and required an additional $125 fee to reinstate services despite never having sent a bill or email letting me know anything was wrong with the account. I escalated it to the sales manager and was basically told they acknowledge they didn't tell me about the issues with the account and were going to require the $125 fee anyways. This is straight up theft and I refuse to pay $125 to a company when the termination of services was completely out of my control.Wrong Address: As mentioned, I have email confirmation that they didn't even have my address correct, so their claim that they sent notices most likely went somewhere else as they did not come to us at my house.Drivers Throwing garbage out the window: A driver photographed my home and threw litter into my yard.Review from Karina M

I don't know where to start! This is the worst, most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with! 1st, If you call several times during business hours they never answer! I moved into my home the 1st, on the 8th I was finally able to activate service. I attempted activating service before moving in but they said they couldn't because the previous tenant had an unpaid balance. Okay that's not my problem! Unfortunately they're the only trash company that services my area. Upon finally fixing that and activating service, they charged me for 3 months in advance along with a deposit. Okay it was just under $200. They didn't even swap out the trash bin, the one there was all dirty with some trash in there still! I had to call/email requesting an itemized receipt of my first payment and an ID # so could set up my online account. They ignored my request and never provided me with a reciept! 2/3 months later they finally gave me an ID #. Great now I can see my reciept, nope! It's wasn't even on there! Come the next three months I had to go to Mxico for a costly emergency surgery which I had communicated through email to CTR. My trash was not being picked up for 3+months. When I came back I contacted them letting them know I was going to pay to continue services, but that I had prioritize my water/electric bills, as well as groceries for my kids, give me 2 weeks I said. They reply by telling me that it was now going to $433 dollars just to continue services! $100 for a 2ND deposit, $155 for past due "services rendered", she said, (keep in mind they did not pick up my trash!) and an additional $178.57 in advance for a future quarter and setup fee. Oh yeah they picked up my trash can yet they could never pick it up when it was previous tenant's that wasn't there for months! *********************** said that it was REQUIRED to have my account on autopay now. A MUST she stated. &The deposit to be paid separate? Never has a company asked me for2 deposits @different prices. ImOutOfCharactrsCentral Texas Refuse Response

They hold the monopoly so we have no options. This sham company takes advantage of customers by charging whatever they want and then deciding to change the rules so we are left with trash in a container every single week. If I were independently wealthy I would start a rival trash company just to put them out of business. They are the worst and they don't honor their own pricing.Central Texas Refuse Response

I appreciate your help, but we went round and round with a couple of the ladies who basically have no record of the second container that I had at my house for at least two or three years and that we purchased outright for $65 and had zero problems getting the can picked up until a few months ago when we were told that we had to now pay monthly for the can. Mind you, for awhile we had three cans and did pay for two because as I said we purchased one can outright for $65. Anyway, we now just pay for both cans even though we were told the can was paid outright for $65. We've switched banks since we purchased the can, so we don't even have the record of purchase, but being that we had three and went down to two, we didn't just have an extra can magically appear!! Sorry, I am not trying to be mean, I'm just frustrated. ***************************** *****Review from John D

Central Texas Refuse has lied to us repeatedly when we ask them to delay picking up trash until at least 6am in downtown Austin. They tell their client, The Bowie, that they'll do so, but continue to scrape, shuffle and loudly pick up the trash between 3:30am and 4:30 am every M, W, F. Since the pandemic (2 years now), traffic in the daylight hours is sparse, but traffic is the excuse they continue to give us, along with the dishonest assurance that they'll be better neighbors in the future. Trash pickup at the neighboring high-rises has been delayed until later in the morning - but that's by their competitors, who are more interested in being good neighbors. "**** your feelings" has come to downtown Austin, and insults us again every other morning. NOT a 'Better Business', and cheapens the BBB brand.
