On July 22nd, 2023 I applied for a home equity loan with public employee credit union online in ******, **. I received an email, not a phone call from ************** a few days later saying I did not qualify for the loan for lack of income When I questioned what income she calculated, she gave me a figure that was incorrect. **** tried to deny me on two other occasions once in 2008 **** denied me for a personal loan, which I did not press the issue even though they were being discriminatory and unsuccessfully once again in 2016.In 2016 I applied for a car loan with public employee credit union, I was approved and hours later called and told I was denied, the loan officer said, "I am sorry I made a mistake!" I knew **** was at that moment discriminating against me again, when I ask why, the young loan officer became nervous and could not give me a reason. I ask to speak to her superior (************) I questioned why my loan was approved and then declined. Ultimately, ************ reversed his course of action and approved the car loan. Needless to say, I was appalled and shocked. I mention this incident to give you background on their discriminatory practices. **** goes out of their way to deny certain demographics and loan to who they feel will repay rather than who is qualified.**** first said my debt to income was too high for the home equity loan, once I proved that was not the case, **** then said I had to many delinquent accounts once I proved that also was incorrect as I was looking at my credit report and had a 709-credit score! **** then changed their reason to deny me by saying I needed to make a certain amount of income without my pension payments. I am so disappointed.
