We contracted for $100,000 with Carrisal Construction for a home remodel mid-August 2023 that they reported would take "no more than 2 months at the most" to complete. Almost immediately they asked for $7,000 above the contracted amount. We verbally agreed to pay the additional amount and did. After numerous delays and at least one "redo" for incorrect (significantly cheaper carpet pad) product installed, most, but not all items were completed, but nearly two months later than originally agreed upon. Some of the work was satisfactory and some was unsatisfactory (details in attachments). Two major items which were quoted in the contract total were not, and have not, been completed (front door construction and install, and mantel). Summaries and details are attached, along with the original contract. Our primary complaints are that 1) Carrisal Construction owes us $8,740 for contracted work they have not completed, 2) some of the work Carrisal Construction completed was not good quality, and we will have to have some of their work redone, 3) Carrisal Construction denies that they owe us any money.We have emailed, spoken and texted. Our main contact at Carrisal Construction, their "field manager", verbalized that he prefers texts and will not/has not responded to any of the details in the e-mails (the documents attached). We arranged an in-person meeting in mid-January, around his schedule, to go over the contract. He did not show up for the meeting, but texted saying he e-mailed us. We never received the e-mail. He has not contacted us since that time. Ultimately, we believe in good faith that Carrisal Construction owes us $8,740 for work not completed but paid for in the contract. Our desire is that Carrisal make good on their committments.
