Purchased two wallmasters about 2 years ago, with the intention of using the advertised WiFi functionality. After spending over 4k on the units and a professional installer, it did not work after hours of attempting different methods. I contacted customer support several times and was put on the supervisor call list twice and never received a callback. After the third call, they decided to mail me a new board to install. Well I installed it and guess what, they didnt connect. So I called customer support again and was placed on the supervisor call back list again. Guess what? No call back. At this point I gave up. I proceeded to try again every 3-4 months hoping they fixed these issues with app updates (some of the changelogs specifically mention fixing connectivity). I tried again this week and got a new error: firmware out of date, please contact customer service. I called and they said that since the product is out of warranty, there was nothing they could do. I was put on the call list again (Im not expecting a call back based on prior experience). They never fixed the issue to begin with while it was in warranty! I paid a premium for this functionality, and this is blatant false advertising right here. Beware before purchasing if you intend to want to control you AC remotely.Review from Wendy D

We purchase a Friedrich Wallmaster 2 ******* ago at *****'s Applicance in ********** **. One the very first day we had to refuse the purchase and get a replacement. The ** sound had a loud screeching sound. The replace the was better but still sounded like a chirpping bird. Now, after only using the ** occasionally during the 2 ******* the control panel doesn't work. I did notice after the first summer I would keep have to depress the temperature button until the button finally worked. Now this second summer the button doesn't work at all. I can only turn the unit on and off and no telling how long that will last. I can no longer adjust the temperature. The company won't replace the control panel and the part alone cost $300.00 dollars that does't include the service call. The ** cost $1200.00 dollars I thought the more expensive ** would work at least 6 years. I have 2 other ** that were way less expensive and they are 8 years old and this operating and producing cold air.Review from Daniel L

Bought a through the wall ****** BTU AC model CCW15B10B. I will never purchase a Friedrich anything ever again because of the rude and unprofessional attitudes of the people in the warranty department and the inability to speak with a supervisor over my warranty claim. *********** must be going out of business and the bad reviews are piling up. We only had the unit for less than a year, used it for three months last summer. This year, attempted to use it and it failed to cool, had a diagnostic service tech inspect it and informed me that the coolant was leaking and that they cannot fix this unit as they do not make parts for it anymore. I have the warranty agreement within a year they are supposed to fix it, 100% cost on them, they are trying to tell me I have to accept a prorated amount, which is for years 2-5. Clearly a rip off, I can't understand how they can justify this. They only want to give $675.77, but I paid $925.04. I don't think I should pay one nickel for something that only got 3 months of use. DO NOT BUY FRIEDRICH! I want to be reimbursed for my entire expense.Review from selcuk s

I bought FRIEDRICH chill premier smart room air conditioner model number CCW15B10B on 07/14/23 from PC ******* and son. I used it probably for a month. June 2024 I turn the ac on and there was no cold air coming. And the Ac is still under warranty. I called Friedrich for the problem. They told me to get diagnostic report from Friedrich authorized service, I have got the report saying troubleshoot found refrigerant leak on evaporator coil. Part is not available. I called back Friedrich and have sent them all documents including proof of purchase which is less than a year. I have been told by Friedrich that they dont have this unit in stock and it could be months until they have them available or they can buyout the unit with less amount than I have paid for the unit which I have used 1 month or so. So I have decided to wait for the replacement until they have it available.I have been left without air conditioner for the whole summer by Friedrich. Thank you Friedrich.Review from Sara R

Sad state of affairs. We owned a Freidrich for 20+ years and worked great.We purchased new A/C unit July of 2019.We paid $1200 for a window unit. Which by my standards and by comparison shopping is a good deal of money for window units.We have run our AC unit approximately 15 months since we have owned it.3 months a year maximum. The unit no longer cools the room. The freon has leaked out and Friedrich offers no help even though we are technically still under the 5 year warranty.When I asked to speak to the representatives manager she told me she didnt have one. Such bad business practice. They are using their once good name to ******* customers.Review from Elizabeth F

Tried contacting the company to get replacement parts for my air conditioner. All I needed was a new hose attachment and both inlet and outlet pieces. After combing their website and finally finding the product numbers I called customer service to be redirected to another number. When speaking to the representative not only did they have an attitude, but they informed me that they did not carry the parts and could not give me any details about the specifications of the parts so I could try and find a replacement elsewhere. When I told them that I could not find any information describing the pieces on their website, all they could say was that, yeah, it wouldnt be on there and that they couldnt help me.Review from Jim B

I guess you should always check BBB before you buy something. I bought not 1 but 2 in wall ACs from PC ******* and ***. I had 2 break in 4 years. This first one luckily broke so fast it was covered under their absurd one year warranty. The second miraculously last 3 seasons of light usage and the motor went. $1,500 in wall unit. I will never ever ever purchase a Friedrich AC ever again. And no one I know will ever buy one.Review from Theresa P.

I bought 2 wallmaster air conditioners 5 years ago. I only used them one month the first year because I kept getting ones where the box was open. I had a 5 year warranty on both & now the warranty lies have expired. The compressors have gone out. I paid $1,500 each plus paid an additional $90 each for additional warranties. They are a piece of garbage! I now have to replace them. I will never buy Friedrich air conditioners ever again.Review from Alex L

I have portable ac that is less than year old and can’t connect to wifi. I emailed twice in the course of couple of months back and didn’t receive the response. I called and was told after an hour troubleshooting to call Verizon to open the port? Really? After telling the so called customer support tech that verizon doesn’t provide my router. He still insisted and it didn’t feel right so I asked for his supervisor who could know any better. I hang up and called Verizon to find out that Friedrich customer support is untrained and have no clue what they doing. Port opening ? By verizon? Their customer support doesn’t even take the serial number of the device you are calling about. They wouldn’t check if there is recall or running manufacturing defect. Your app Friedrich go is either bad or my wifi module in the ac. No help from company that I tried contacting for the oast year and the device warranty will be expiring soon.
