I had the misfortune of calling One Hour Air when my AC was blowing warm air. *****, a technician (salesman), came over and claimed my vents were dirty and my filter needed replacing. He charged me a whopping $3000 for vent cleaning, a new filter, and added refrigerant. Later, I discovered I overpaid for this. Other companies offer this service for much less. ***** sold me on a $13/month maintenance plan, locking me in for a year. A few weeks later, my unit broke down again due to a refrigerant leak. ***** quoted $3000 for repairs or a staggering $15,000 for a new system. Thankfully, I got quotes from two other companies who charged $1200 for the repair or $8500 for a new, high-quality HVAC system. I ended up getting a new Trane system for $8500.Feeling cheated, I spoke with ***** about the huge discrepancy in pricing between One Hour Air and numerous other companies. He feigned surprise at the competitors' lower prices, which I find hard to believe. When I tried to cancel the maintenance plan, I was told I was locked in for a year, or pay hundreds for a cancellation charge regardless of my awful experience. Their response to my complaint was dismissive and condescending. One Hour Air is a rip-off. They overcharge, sell unnecessary services, and lock you into unfair contracts. Save yourself the headache and go with a reputable company instead.Review from Tava L

They came out to our home in May of 2022 and our unit has not worked properly since then. Theyve had to come out 14 times so far and its only been a year and a half. They charged us significantly more for a unit than other companies, but we really should have shopped around beforehand. Theyre always friendly over the phone but the technicians are almost always rude or lying about why the system isnt working. Working with one hour has been the biggest mistake and financial burden weve ever made!Review from Mark V

My service call to One hour air caused great pain and consternation to my family. After their visit my system had a complete break down. It was working intermittently before then, and was cooling the house for a few hours a day. Afterwards, we went with blistering heat in the house as we arranged for a true Air Conditioning company to complete a new installation. That company did not charge us for looking at our system nor make phony recommendations. When complete we finally had AC and the suffering caused to us by One Hour Air came to an end. They charged us for their vandalism of our system, and did not even discount us the price for visiting us when they came several hours late. The only thing the know is how to take advantage of the those who are suffering and in a weakened condition. They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they do business.Review from Cathleen T

On 8/21/2023 I called One Hour to service my A/C unit. The unit is 3 years old so out of warranty for labor but not parts. The One Hour tech arrived at my home and ascertained that the capacitor was out as well as the hard start unit. The tech advised that the repairs would cost $1429.00. I asked the tech why it was so expensive. He stated that this was the "upgrade capacitor and hard start unit, made to handle the ***** heat" and that was why they were so expensive. In my stupidity I trusted the tech and ok'd the repairs. Took 20 minutes and the work was completed and the tech left. It was at that point I realized the tech did not leave a copy of the invoice. So I called One Hour and they text me acopy of the invoice. I called the manufacturer of my unit to get reimbursed for the parts I just had installed and was promptly informed that the pricing was way out of line. I was told that the parts should have cost a total of $250.00 plus the $79.00 service fee. I checked some other local A/C repair companies and all stated somewhere between $250.00 and $300.00 for the parts plus the service fee. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact any at One Hour to return my call to come to some sort of agreement on fair pricing. I am in the process of disputing the charge with our credit card company.Review from Dallyse S

My husband and I weren't even looking for a new unit when we called OHAC&H. We simply needed our unit to be serviced. The guy told us about the awesome guarantees and monthly payment plans. We decided to be proactive about getting a unit before ours went out (it had maybe another year or two) and decided to buy a brand new unit. They replaced our old unit with a bigger more efficient unit, moved our outside unit to the side of our house, replaced all of our ducts and installed a new thermostat. It was great and made a big difference, at first. This was in June of 2022. When the weather started fluctuating like it does in the beginning of 2023 and we had to switch between heat and A/C our unit would switch back to A/C. This happened multiple times. We were told something different every single time they came out, from dirty filter (even though it had been changed 12days prior) to surge protector, to french drain issues, to condenser, to switch board, to electrical panel, to filter, again. I run a business out of my home which requires me to partially shut down every time a tech is here and if my home gets above 80degrees shut down completely. This has been expressed to them multiple times. I've requested documentation to show what work/notes are being done and how many times they have come out, never received. I've asked for a refund or partial, never responded. I did receive one $500 check because of their no frustration guarantee even though that has happened multiple times. Every time I speak to them they are friendly, professional and agree that this has been unacceptable. However it is not being fixed and I'm not being compensated. If this continues into the summer months it could potential destroy my business that I've spent 5yrs building. I have given them more than enough patience. It's been several months with no resolution.Review from Melissa D

I was charged $79 for a service call to find out my filter was causing the noise that initiated my call to this company for service. The price of my being stupid and not feeling well I suppose. A good company would not have charged, especially if they wanted your repeat business. My complaint is the tech offered for me to purchase a $12.95 mo plan for maintenance after charging me $79 for not having to do anything. He also tried to sell me a wifi thermostat for over $350. My 2yr old thermostat was operating just fine. After declining the monthly plan and thermostat I did not need the tech took pictures of my furnace unit and my thermostat. He even took my thermostat off the wall and took pictures of it which was unnecessary, an invasion of privacy and creepy. Plus, he had no invoice for the money I paid. A company that charges $79 for a service call certainly should be able to provide a receipt. He said he would email me one which I have never received.Review from rbroeckel

I was sold a top of the line product for health and efficiency. My family suffers from Asthma and Allergies and had a UV Air Scrubber in our old unit. We were very clear with the salesman that we wanted the scrubber in our new unit and was even added to the receipt. 19 months later when they came to clean the system I was told they highly recommend a UV Scrubber because there is mold in the system. Within this time-frame my daughter 15, had suffered multiple of her first ever asthma attacks and was giving a new asthma and allergy medication along with an increase in her daily inhaler prescription. The company immediately back peddled and ******* from their customer support apologized and said that they shouldn't be telling us it's mold because they aren't certified to do so. They immediately offered to clean my ducts, which was odd because they said if it was mold they couldn't clean my ducts... So if they don't know if it's mold or not, why would they have offered to clean them so quickly? The manager **** wanted this to go away quickly and said, I can do whatever my owner can do to make this right. They had been to my house 15+ times in 19 months, this has been a disaster and I don't want them here. I told them that I want my money back on the product, I want the unit fix so it's running 100%, and I wanted a prorated refund for my electricity bill because I was supposed to be saving $200+ a month. I was sold a product, that was supposed to help my families health and instead they neglected to install what I paid for and put my family at risk, literally causing them pain and suffering. Do NOT buy from One Hour Air, they will sell you everything and once that sales person leaves, you will get nothing you were promised but excuses and justifications. $23k unit that was no better than my old unit from 2014. Worse actually because we had an air scrubber in the old unit they took out and never put a new one in... My air was worse off after they installed the new unit
