      I received an email on 2/20/24 welcoming me to me new Flare (debit) account associated with phone number (redacted). I emailed customer service that I did not open an account. I received a canned response and then another email about opting in to overdraft service for an account ending in (redacted), to which I received another canned email. A third and fourth emails, welcoming to my new account were received on 2/22/24 and 2/24/24. I called when I got another email about a debit card on its way to me. I spoke with ****** at customer service who was unable to find this account even when I shared the last four of my SSN. I have had similar issues from someone else sharing my first and last name and trying to use my personal email address in the recent past. It seems that the bank has no means for tracking the misuse of personal email addresses.

      Really less than one star. This company sent my 19 year old daughter a credit card to activate. It had a credit card number, expiration date, and cvv number. Anyone could have accessed this. She also never signed up for the account and they were using her nickname. When I got a person on the line, they refused to stop talking and kept trying to sell me a medical alert system. Very inappropriate and worrying business practices.

      THIEVERY! DO NOT USE NetSpend! I got a card and put some money on it but did not end up needing to use it. A few months later I decided to cancel the card and see if I could have my money refunded. During that call, I was told the account was inactive and a check would be sent by mail. A month later I still had not received a check so I called again. I was told that the account had not been canceled, in fact, had been reactivated. I requested, again, to have the account canceled and the money mailed by check. I was told that the amount of the refund was roughly half of the original amount originally put on the card. When I asked why that is, I was told it was due to "inactivity fees". They also had the audacity to ask me if I was interested in a promotion to "give" me $40 to keep the account open. They couldn't seem to understand why I was upset and wanted to close my account even when I explained to them that all I did was pay them to steal my money. Obviously, I did not accept their ridiculous and insulting offer. In plain terms, they will charge you your money for not using your money. This company has found a way to legally steal money and THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU. I'm sure all the inactivity fee stuff is in the 400 page fine print that comes with the card which is how this is legal. The sad things is that they are predatory and take advantage of people who cannot bank by conventional means. This is theft plain and simple. There is a reason this company is not BBB accredited and I would have given zero stars it is was an option.

      On January 31, **** I called due to fraudulent charges from my checking account. I called immediately, same day, the fraudulent transactions showed up. At the time they were pending and I informed customer service they were not my charges and to stop the pending transactions, but the customer service representative said she would not put a stop on the charges because she claimed I had to wait until the charges cleared before a dispute could be made. I immediately put a dispute in and from then on I have not received my money, Netspend is refusing to refund me fraudulent charges that I DID NOT MAKE!!! I have had to put a complaint in with the ************************* I would like this situation to be resolved without having to bring a civil suit against the bank. I followed every protocol required by the bank. I have made numerous, over 30 or more phone calls to resolve this. I was told that a supervisor would call me but never did. All of this is documented on recorded lines. I have kept records of all conversations. I am a single mom whose family relies on my income only. Approximately $2000 was illegally taken from my account. Please reach out to me as soon as possible.

      I have tried to close my account with **********************. They told me they would and I haven't ******** to speak with anyone that would close the account. They give you the runaround. Stay away from them.

      I got an email from them saying I needed to call immediately because there was an issue with my card. I have never signed up for a card with them. When I called, I either needed to provide my card number (which I dont have) or my full social security number, which I definitely dont want to provide. I ended up emailing them and they told me that there was nothing to worry about because there is no card under my name and its just an offer if I am interested. The original email gave the last 4 digits of a card number with my name and said there was a problem with it - they couldnt explain why their original email tried to trick me when I never even had a card with them. They never emailed me back when I asked. This is so scammy and I felt like they wanted to trick me into getting more personal details like my social security number or try to get me to sign up for an account that I dont want.

      I think they're a bunch of thieves I put a bunch of money on a NetSpend card because I'm homeless and I wanted it to be safe I live in a shelter in ********* ********** after putting my money into a NetSpend account two charges suddenly came up on my account for $300 and something dollars a piece with two fees on it a fee for each one of 299 so I called him and then I got disconnected from them so I called him back the next day the two charges were now gone and there was a charge for $600 and something dollars but the two fees for the two separate 300 something dollars the previous day were there just not the $300 charges so I called them and they told me that I have to wait ************************************************************************************* the mail and I tried to access my account online but I have previous cards with them so I tried to change my email address so I can access my new card they said I had to prove who I was they asked me is security question I gave it to him I need to give them a copy of my driver's license and I explained to them that my wallet was stolen and I don't have my driver's license right now and I can't go and get my driver's license because the ********************** that I put in my NetSpend card was to fix my van that I just bought so right in the middle of the conversation with them they disconnected from me so then I called back just to check my account over the phone to see what the charges were so I could try to make sense out of this myself also now there was a restriction on my cardmy refund is going to go back on there on the 21st of this month which is febuary and they will not give me access to my account because I don't have a driver's license they're very rude not nice at all I mean just will not even try to help me and like I said I am in a shelter I am homeless I don't have very many options and they're keeping my money from me and they won't let me access my card
