PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU HIRE THIS COMPANY. I am selling the home my husband and I built in north Macon and the buyer had paid a down payment and we were going to close at the end of the month. During due diligence the buyer had the home inspected and then contacted Bug House bc they were offering a free termite inspections. They told the buyer that I did not have a termite contract (without asking me) and gave the buyer a report saying that I had termite infestation and they needed to treat the house and it would cost the buyer $500 plus whatever needed to be replaced that had been damaged by termites. The buyer came back on me and wanted money off the original offer for this problem (that never existed to begin with) and was even considering backing out of the contract. When I talked to the buyer and showed her that the house had been treated yearly by ******** since we had built it in 1999 everything was okay. (I did not have to give a termite letter until this happened only bc the buyer was not financing the house just in case you were wondering). The house had just had its yearly inspection a week before Bug House did their inspection with no sign of termite infestation. My realtor then proceeded to tell me that this is common and Bug House does free inspections so they can get a contract on the termite control of the house and if you can't prove you have one then you are at their mercy. This could have caused me to lose the sale on my house and for them to lie and say I had termites when I didn't, is appalling to me. BEWARE of this company whether you are a buyer or seller. It is sickening to me how this company blatantly lied and if this had caused me to lose the sale of my house I would have taken it further but felt anyone who might use them should hear my story first.
