Heart Heating and Air installed a brand new air conditioning unit at a house I own, currently occupied by a tenant. This unit has a 5 year parts warranty and a 2 year labor warranty. The date of installation was October 11th 2022. At the time we were renovating the bathroom at this house and my husband was there 5 days a week from October through November. After 4 weeks he took the filter out of the air conditioner to check. He saw that it had warped, and we immediately ordered a metal reusable filter via ****** ***** which was put in. At no time was that unit without a filter. On April 14th 2023, my husband ******* was called by someone from this company. They stated that as part of the service contract we had with them they needed to come out and look at the unit. He made an appointment to meet with them at 11am, however they did not show at that time. They arrived at the house later that day and spoke with the tenant. The technician there told her that the coils were completely clogged and the unit would have to be pulled out and the coils either cleaned or replaced. He said that it would not be covered by the warranty because she had not been using a filter. She immediately denied this, but was told she was not telling the truth and the only way this could have happened was if the filter had been left out for 2 or 3 months. She called my husband who phoned the company and asked for a manager. He was then told the same thing even when insisting that he personally put in a new filter and it was being regularly cleaned on a monthly basis. The company are refusing to clean or replace the coils under the warranty now. It is my belief that one of 3 things has happened. 1. This company initiated contact with us for the sole purpose of dishonestly obtaining money from us. 2. The unit was improperly fitted in the first place. 3. The original filter was of inferior quality and caused the build-up. Calling customers liars is unacceptable.
