Hi Im new on the Rv world but being overlanding for years, never been on a situation as follows, just bought my ******* lantern 17r with camping world and got a year membership with Colorado River Adventures, so I called and booked the 5 days and 4 nights with them all good until that point, then I get confirmation email saying This offer is designed for couples in good health between ***** years of age. An annual income of $40,000 and above is needed. If married or have a significant other both must attend a sixty minute presentation. One gift per family. Please bring two forms of ID ************************* license & check book or credit card). U.S. Citizens only please. Those who have toured a C.R.A. Resort in the past are not eligible for this offer. This offer is nontransferable. Then I told them that Im not a citizen so they processed to tell me that I can buy the membership but cancelled the walk through because Im not us citizen?????? The are comfortable taking the money for the membership from me but not showing me the property because they are Discriminating Me??The supervisor even told me by have a good day cant continue talking because youre not us citizen Are you kidding , thats a big fraud and discriminatory, guys be aware of all their properties.Review from Michelle L

I would love to do a video with you about these RV timeshare scams. I joined Colorado River Adventures what a joke! They charge you a lot of money and don't uphold their contract! They have brochures showing you all the fun things to do then when you get there parks are far from the water not maintained! One said they had horseback riding when I got there no horses! One park backed up to a storage facility and the hosts were never around! The water was off when I went to take a shower, hot tub not working pool not heated, washing machines broken and clubhouse closed. I payed maintenance fees! When I complained I was now a target! I was told I could pay my fee monthly but when I went to make a reservation I was told I was behind on my maintenance fee. Now I was told I could not pay monthly even though the office set me up on payments. They kept calling and texting me to spend more money on a premium plan. I told them I was not getting what I payed for so they said just stop paying it is a membership if I am not happy. Now they turned me into their hired collection agency! Ruined my good credit! These clubs are a scam you don't save money!Review from Tim H

Came to Emerald Cove to have a peaceful, nice and free camping trip. Arrived on Friday, Dec. 1 2023 and scheduled to leave on Monday. Camp property is all dirt, no grass and several of the sites are on the river edge. Be prepared to smell your neighbors sewer, watch their TV and see through their windows what all their decorations are and like feeling like a sardine. Then liking that, you make your way to the Sales and administration office for the required presentation from the most experienced sales person you have ever met, (just ask them) and *** the grounds manager will tell you so as well. Then you will be greeted with their anger, sarcasm and insults. Upon arrival, we politely requested to meet outside, since the lobby reeked of smoke, It was a beautiful day and there was a picnic table just outside the door - so a reasonable request due to our smoke allergies. We were told that there was no smoke odor, no one was smoking in the office and that meeting outside was not possible. As soon as we pushed back on their refusal to meet outside, the rudeness and insults started. We were told that we probably wouldnt fit in to their family-oriented RV park. They also indicated that they wouldnt want us as members because they could tell we were chronic complainers. When we objected to their insults, we were told to leave the sales administration office area or they would call the Sheriff and have us removed from the park. We asked for the owners name and number, but they refused to provide them. We also asked for their business certificate, but were told they couldnt find it. When we mentioned that we believed our civil rights were being violated, they told us to enjoy our free stay and to leave the sales office area. So, we left along with my service dog. So, if you are looking to have a free camping weekend, this might be your place to meet the sales and grounds attendants who only care about the money and not you. Happy camping to you all.Review from Crystal B

They won't respond to my email and I keep getting the run around when calling. They lie and manipulate you into signing up. I camped once at their resort and swore I would never go back. We signed up for all the extras never once did they mention the extras that we were excited for was a separate annual fee on top of the 12,000 initial fee and their annual 499. We would have never signed up if that was stated. We can't afford all that. I have sent emails asking to be let out of our contract. We found all this out when we we're planning our cross country trip and was not able to us the sites that we were told was included! They are scammers!Review from Loris F

I purchased a new (to me) travel trailer from Camping World on March 13, 2023. With this purchase was a certificate for a free visit to Colorado River Adventures in Earp, California. I have left multiple messages and a few emails with one call back. I could not pick up the phone for I was at work. My husband and were members and I let the membership expire after he passed away in 2020. I would very much look into a membership in my name but with out speaking with someone that seems impossible. Customer service in the sales and rental office has always been an issue with this company. It has not improved over the years. More members and few people to provide customer service. ***** F********Review from R. D.

An employee asaulted my SON, my 10 year old son!! And we were told to leave at 9:30pm by the police!! The Manager and the employee lied to the police!!!!! I called the office in Arizona to try and speak to someone and they gave me a FAKE email to send my "complaint" to. What they did is a crime!! My son was so scared from this!!Emerald Cove Resort Response

Mr. Desatoff and his son were visitors to our Cherry Valley park. My understanding of the incident is that Mr. Desatoff's son was asked to quit playing on Park equipment (Snorkel Lift) by one of our employees. The situation became confrontive between staff and Mr. Desatoff and rather than let it escalate the police were called and they suggested that he leave the park which he did.Customer Response

The employee verbally assaulted my son! He was about 5 inches (bent over) yelling loudly in my son's face. Then the Police didn't even discus the event with me or my son. The manager and policed knocked on my door and said I was lucky that no "charges we filed on myself." And that we need to pack our entire RV up and leave immediately. No mutual agreement was made. Whomever at Emerald Cove Resort that wrote the response to my complaint lied once again!! I should have pressed charges for the assault on my son. As well I should have had my right to speak with the police but was not even given a chance due to the lies told to the authorities. We had nowhere to go and had to sleep in an empy field open to soi many dangers due to the actions of the Ermold Cove Resort employees.Review from Jerry M

My ex-wife wanted to go check this place out. We are still friends, so she asked me to tag along to help with the discussions. Seems like a nice enough place, and the extra info was good too. She was interested because she wanted to park her RV there a few weeks a month, and use other campgrounds other times. Thats all good. Here come the problems. I was clear that I was NOT part of the transaction. That it was for her, and that we don't even live together. I was just there for support. Part of the pitch is that you can gift the membershi to others, and you can add another member too, if you want. So they offered to add me, since she didn't have another adult to add. I WAS VERY CLEAR AND SPECIFIC THAT I DIDN'T WANT TO BE TIED TO THE CREDIT JUST IN CASE SHE COULD NOT PAY. The sales person straight out lied to us. He said he needed my social security number to add me as the second person, but I was not responsible for the obligation. I asked a very specific question: "So to be clear, you are saying that if she can't pay this for some reason, it will not go against my credit report?" His response is the next lie: "It will never go on your credit. If she doesn't pay, we'll just suspend the membership until she can pay it. Heck, I LIVE HERE. I don't want our members and neighbors mad at me." She agrees to buy thing and off we go. Time passes, and she comes up short on cash. Now of course my credit is taking a hit because of it. I called and discussed it with their billing dept. then collections dept, and now debt collectors. The reply I got was "Well you signed the papers, so nothing we can do about it." I explained the situation....got the same reply. Tried other options with them. Got the same reply. WHAT IT COMES DOWN TO IS I WAS LIED TO. And I'm not talking about "marketing". I'm talking about direct LIES to direct questions. So now I'm looking for help whereever I can find it.Review from PHIL G

Major time share sales scam, one hour to make a $14,000 dollar decision and $500 yearly dues for life. Not even given all the particulars or details of the membership. Sales person was pretty shaky with a disheveled appearance very unprofessional. He was angry after we said no. The "Gift" was a gas card for $200! Here is what it really is : $50 every 60 days with a receipt to mail in...after you register and are on file. What a scam/joke. They are what you get when you purchase from La Mesa RV.
