Sold my lease back to the said dealership on the 17th of August 2021. Was told I would be paid the payout amount and that I would not owe anything. Told the dealership that my lease payment would be coming off on that day and is there anything they could do to stop it. Was told that that would not be possible and that they would refund the lease amount in a cheque the following day (292.35$). I agreed and the plates were taken off and I signed the papers and gave the keys. The amount was deducted from my account on that night. When I went back to collect my cheque I was told that I wouldn't be reviving this money because the paper value on Lexus website had already deducted that amount when they checked even though the amount was not taken out of my account. Spoke to Lexus financial and was informed that for leases, the amount to be taken is deducted on their website a day before the amount is withdrawn from my account and that the dealership is aware of this and should have informed mBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/09/22) */ ***************************************************************** ****************************************** Hi Better Business Bureau: No ****** or Lexus dealership in the province of Ontario charges a Guest more than ****** Credit Canada Inc.'s payoff system charges. It is simply not something that is done. The system displayed a pay-off and we would have paid out that amount to buy-out the lease. The Guest would have been making payments for a period of time prior and would have know himself whether there was, in fact, a payment due or not. WE as a Dealership would NOT be privy to this BUT the GUEST and ****** Credit would have been. Regardless, we do NOT owe the Guest at this point, however we will as a GESTURE of GOODWILL pay the Guest the extra payment he is claiming. We will have a cheque prepared in the amount of $292.35, per the Guest's claim. Again, this is simply a GESTURE OF GOODWILL as we DO NOT OWE this amount and ONLY ****** Credit and the Guest would know this; will resolve with a payment to the Guest.
