I just had a horrible experience with Applian Repair Expert, ***** **** ** **** ** ********* *** *** ******** *** ******** ******* **** ** ** ***** ********* ****** ******* ***** ******** * **** ****** ** *** ******* ** ***** *** ******** ***** **** ****** ***** The whole story with the technician *** ** **********. Even though I want to move on from the bad feeling about them, the technician's behavior was dishonest, and his excuses for not bringing the necessary control board (I paid the deposit for the main control board and the second control board, but he only brought the second control board with him) to fix my refrigerator were ridiculous. He told me he replaced the defrost thermostat, for which I also paid a deposit, for my small refrigerator. When I asked him where the old defrost thermostat was, he pointed to a brand new one. I asked him why it was brand new, and he told me he brought two defrost thermostats. Then he got mad at me for asking him where the old part was. The whole process of repairing my refrigerators was so weird. Before his arrival, my main refrigerator was still cooling, although it had an error code. It stopped working and could not even be turned on anymore after he tried to fix it and before he left. So I had to buy a brand new refrigerator. I live in the Greater Vancouver area in British Columbia. I recently had my dryer serviced by a technician **** ***** ** **** ********* *** *** **** ******* ** ******* *** ****** ***** ******* ***** ****** ** ******** **** *** ** ******** **** ******* *** ******** My dryer was initially checked on April 8th 2024 and the tech did not have the parts. He said that he needed to order them. He returned the next day with the parts and repaired the dryer in about 30 minutes. I had to make two payments of 268 dollars each for the service and another 268 dollars for the parts. One payment was on the credit card and the other part I paid by cheque. He told me that the parts came to the same amount as the labor charges. I told him that the price sounds a little high and asked the technician to prove the amounts that was being billed to me. He told me he will provide a receipt and that he was saving me about 100 dollars by charging me separately for the parts and the labor. The day after I called the phone number to the dispatch office and talked to an agent. The office said that the company doesn't accept cheques and that the parts for my dryer was only about 60 dollars. I asked how much they charge by rates per hour. As soon as I did I then got disconnected. I have been trying to call back and each time it seems like when some one picks up the phone it hangs up before I can say hello..............I will leave you to decide if they deserve your business. Apparently your company is not even going to refund my money. The repair man to fix my stove was a no-show. Nevertheless during the time window when the repairman should have attended, I received an emailed receipt indicating the repairman had attended at my address, fixed the problem and that I had paid $320 by ****. They said I would not be charged for the visit if I decided to use them to repair the dryer. The repair man arrived and said he thought he knew what was wrong as there was a tic when you pushed the knob to turn on the dryer but it would not turn on!! He proceeded to take the top off the dryer like he knew what he was doing. He tested the rectangular board on the top of the machine and he said you need a new board and unfortunately is was the most expensive thing in the machine. He put everything back in and he said I needed to pay him for this diagnostic work. I said well your add says there will be no charge for the call if I decide to get the work done. Right you won't be charged for the call but you need to pay me for the diagnostic test I just did! It's for my labour only!!!! He also said it would be 10 days to order the new board as it had to come from the factory in Toronto. I said well don't you have a factory here in Calgary - it's a big city. Then he said int may be faster than 10 days it often is so I agreed as I needed the dryer fixed! The charge was $255. It's a bit high isn't it. I contacted these guys to come check out our dishwasher that had stopped functioning back in September of 2023. Rahman did the service call and recommended a part replacement. The price was much more palatable than a full dishwasher and came to $135 for the service call and an additional $119.55 for the deposit. The Total repair cost was estimated at $680 for parts and labour. We waited, and waited and waited and waited. I would contact Rahman every 3 weeks to a month or so asking for updates and was assured the part was coming if i got a response at all. So we waited and waited and waited... Finally after being strung along, we had had enough after 21 WEEKS of waiting and asked for a refund for our deposit. After phoning the company, emailing the contact email numerous times, I was contacted by a manager named Benjamin. I sent in screenshots of conversations with their Technician, proof that the deposit had been sent and any additional info they needed. Here we are again waiting and waiting and waiting. It has now been 7 months since I called them originally and they have my money and no service has been completed. We were extremely disappointed how this process went and am still waiting to have my money refunded. This is not how business should be done. I would not recommend using this company for any services.Review from James S

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. After the initial service call, it was determined that I needed a new part which I was required to pay for in advance. After two months of trying to get them to return to my home to replace the part, I gave up and hired another company who promptly served my needs. I think this behavior is intentional as many will give up on the few hundred dollars lost and it felt like a ****. Both head office and the technician made promises they never kept and the list of excuses as to why they could not get back to may place included everything but "the dog ate my homework". *** *** **** * ******** **** *******Review from Wayne G

Appliances Repair charged me $100 for service I cancelled a day earlier, and send it to collection now to ***** my credit, notice they do not answer there e-mail, or they change it frequently, and the do not answer the phone, but they call you later, is that strange.
