Settled a debt with the original creditor however my credit report still showing the amount is owing. I cannot contact the business all their phone numbers are disconnected and no replies from emails. I need them to update my credit report to show the balance has been paid off since may and to have them close the account. They seemed happy to harass me constantly with phone calls for months for my money but now that they have a job to do they cannot be contacted. Tried all forms this is my final resort.Business response

This payment was not made to our office but to the ********** directly and we were not informed.
Upon being made aware of the payment, we have updated the credit bureau of same.

I was contacted by ***** from CTL (************** Ext ****) on October 12th, 2021 regarding an account that falsely created at ******* (*********) in my name sometime in late 2020. I told CTL that it was not me who had created the account and that I had provided an affidavit to ******* *********. ***** told me that I had to contact ******** again and provide the affidavit and police report. I did this on October 12th, 2021. On October 19th a credit alert - new collection appeared on my credit report. My credit has now dropped from 868 to 780 and the false collection account now appears in my report to the amount of $7884 under ******* account number - **************** ***************************************************************************** I would like CTL to remove the false listing from my report. So that my credit score can be corrected.Business response

Once this matter is confirmed fraud, we will close it accordingly and credit reporting will be removed within 48-72 hours. ***UPDATE*** Good morning, Confirmation has been received, this matter has been closed as Fraud. We have submitted an urgent request to have the reporting removed. If you require anything further please let us know.
