I purchased a vehicle in Ontario, to be licensed in Quebec and the dealer will not refund the GST on the sale to me. Knowing I was moving to quebec, they even gave me temporary 10 day plates so I could make it to my appointment in Quebec to transfer license and vehicle registration to this province. Details: - Visited dealership on Nov 22, 2021 - Made down payment on that date - Informed them I was moving to quebec and would require a quebec safety on the vehicle. - Picked up the car November 30, 2021 with temporary 10 day plates - Paid them the outstanding balance, and financed 10946$ total remainder. - Went to the quebec transportation ministry on 12/02/2021 to register vehicle, and transfer license - Had to pay taxes in quebec in the amount of $2736.08 - Quebec told me i had to get refunded GST from dealership - Contacted dealership and was told it's not their problem. Continued email conversations and they stopped replying. - I discussed with my accountant and he confirmed as well they need to refund me the GST portion of the tax. In essenence I have paid taxes twice on this vehicle and just want my refund. The documents attached show the bill of sale, as well as the taxes I had to pay again in Quebec.Business response

Good morning
For this deal not sure where is the problem someone got a Ontario loan at *** whit a Ontario address **** *********** *** ****** on. Driver licence Ontario *************** all this deal was done Ontario It’s the only way to sales a vehicle, it’s not legal to make any deferent way legally, if there a changes of province it as to be done as a transfer this doesn’t generate any extra taxes.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. They did not provide me any information about what would happen with the double taxation, nor were they helpful when I asked how to correct it though.
