On September 21, 2020, I got quote from Saber A., for the rear patio and sides house., He asked 3K deposit , remaining of half once the site prepared and other half after concrete. Paid him 3K, he didn't come the next day, and wouldn't pick his phone or says some excuses for next 9 days. He finally showed up on Oct 2, ********************************************************* also he would do front driveways , in total of $51000 job, ************* **************. He asked more deposit after two days of excavation , got $9500 in total as deposit, after leaving the job site unproper, unsafe and messy He l didnt return on Monday as he promised, wont pick up calls or says excuses, showed up for work after another 10 days. Worked for a day, excavation. The site was messy, not adequate excavation, **** *********** gravel, mixed with mud, **** unprofessional and ************ personal behavior. At the end of the day asked another money, or he wouldn't show up. We had no choice, paid him another $1500. He didn't come back for another 5 days, asked me to rent bin for him, he finally came after 5 days. Loaded some disposal material to bin, which he wanted me to order for him from my credit card, for an hour, and asked another 5K. He ********** us for leaving the site the way it it for winter, if we don't pay him another 5K. He wouldn't come to the site, delay as much as he can, won't pick up phone or excuses, then he comes for a day, ask additional money, or ******** to walk away. Nothing done, just excavation, and Got 14K already , the site is far from being ready for concrete, and asking as to pay more. Refuses all the offers, ********************************************************* would pay extra as soon as he pours. We were also ********************* and property damage, ******** and messy work i*********************** We are hiring another contractor, do the job from scratch***********************************************************************************

      Business response

      17/03/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/26) */ He I'd wrong, he paid me 13000 and I worked a job that is higher than 15000. The 13000 is for 2 houses. The front and back of the house of 2 house were cleaned with 7 bins of garbage. I asked him to pay me more but he refused. I asked him to pay the materials and to pay me and my workers. He said I won't pay you until you pour concrete and I said I can't because the concrete costs 25000 dollars and I can't afford the concrete and my workers. I asked him to pay me 2000 dollars everyday for my workers and he pays for the material and the workers yet still refused. I have witnesses. ******************************** He tried in every way to resolve it but ***** refused. He doesn't want to pay the taxes and I have no contract with him. I tried many times to fix everything and asked to make a contract but he didn't want to. This is what happened with this job and I have 2 more witnesses. Thanks Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/10/27) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Our original verbal agreement was as mentioned, half of amount to be paid once the side is ready for concrete, excluding deposit, and half to be paid after concrete. He promised to complete the job in two weeks, but only %10 of the job was finished after 5 weeks, site wasn't ready for concrete, he constantly delayed the job, with so many excuses. Our original agreement was for the amount of 28K, for the back and sides of all houses, and for another 24K for the front of two houses. We than offered to pay him phase by phase. After completion of each phase of concrete ( in total 5 pouring phase), he would get paid for amount equivalent to the job. We had already given him 14K, and would be willing to pay the rest, right after first phase of concrete , which is back side and ocntinue. Our agreement wasn't based on daily labor, our agreement was included the job, that's how we paid him deposit based on. After he took the deposit of 14 K in total, and delayed the job for 5 weeks, he asks another 5K in order to continue the job. He also asks to pay for the material like concrete and rebar, additional to 5K. As he kept delaying the job, his unprofessional and disrespectful behavior, careless job and low quality material, we didn't have any security to pay him more and wait for him to show up after a while to work for couple hours and ask more money to continue. That was the cycle. AS mentioned, we offered him to pay after each phase of concrete, as long as job does progress. We drafted contract, he refused to sign. WE offered post dated cheques, he would be able to cash after concrete completion, or we offered to pay to third person, he could get after job. He refused all those offers. He took 14 k based on original agreement, delayed the job, and then asking 2500 for each day of labour, and we would be responsible for paying all the material, and had to order materials. 1st, We didn't want to involve with material, amount and the type of material places to purchase. 2nd, if we order material and come to the site, and he wouldn't show up , our losses would have been doubled, as there would be no way to return such kind of material. Third, we don't know how many day it would take to finish the job. after taking so much deposit, he says 2500 additional per day, and it's unknown if how much the whole job would cost us, even if shows up. We just wanted to hire someone to pave our driveway, and would be willing to pay him the amount that we agreed on the beginning. We paid the amount of deposit that he asked on the beginning and expected him to show up on job site with crew and show some progress. We would be willing to provide any help and more money, as we see the job is getting further. ************************************************************************************* didn't want to involve, with materials, labour and all complications. ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** the job delayed 5 weeks, with so many excuses. ***************************************************
