I have been unable to add my current address as the form requires a Canadian postcode so have used by previous address in Canada. I have copied below my complaint to Brytor. We used the Halifax branch but our complaint was moved to the head office. Mark T. of Brytor Halifax quoted us $12830 in early July 2023 for the removal of the contents of our apartment and our son's apartment plus our small storage unit which was approx 70% full. (we later sent Mark a photos of this to prove it was only full to this level. Mark visited both properties to prepare his estimate and other than one small painting we added nothing in the interim. In fact we gave all our small appliances away as they would not work in England. We were shocked to receive an email stating that we would have to pay an additional $3003 due to excess volume. We were sent a series of contradictory emails asking us to pay $2500 and then they would book a container. This represented an increase on the estimate of 19.4%. This changed to $1922.47 but emails proved only that there was 5 cubic , above estimate so should not have paid more than $1136. * **** ***** **** ******* ****** ******* ************  We felt held to ransom as they had all our possessions. Reference was made to transit insurance on the original quote but not mentioned again until after left Canada. No full policy document provided. 5th Oct Told coudn't bring container to our property and would only deliver our possessions using trucks at additional costs. Never mentioned possibility of additional charges. To get our possessions we had to pay another £750 Poor comms including details of two other customers sent to me and a critical email sent to me in error. Sent detailed complaint plus many supporting emails but only responded to part about additional £750 in UK to say this was our responsibility.
