They advertise bragging about how you can count on them. DONT BELIEVE IT!! They have let us run out of propane at least 4 times!The last time in December 2023 when they let us run out it destroyed our brand new propane water heater which has cost us thus far $779.70 to repair.According to several furnace companies we have contacted it was definitely the propane running out that caused the damage (along with the sooty mess that had to be dealt with)Repeated contacts with them have been met with nothing but stalling and EXTREMELY POOR communications. So now begins the arduous and time sucking steps of going through the BBB and Small Claims Court to force them to live up to their responsibilities. Absolutely a horrendous company to deal with.They will multi invoice you, different amounts. Returned propane tanks as they said they would break into my trailer to take them, took them out and kept them there for pick up as did not want my trailer busted! Told me they were coming in 3 days...Contacted me today to advise they didn't get yanks and are puting me into collections. Avoid this company at all costs. Their client services are awful. You speak to different people and each one says something different from.the other.Check ****** reviews! They scam alot of people.WO Stinson & Son Ltd Response

*************************** opened an account with W.O ********************** May 29th, 2023 and entered into a rental agreement for the use of propane tanks. ******* has neglected to fulfil the terms and conditions outlined in rental agreement. ******* has also failed to make payment on his account in over 7 months.
W.O Stinson has requested the return of our owned equipment which ******* has refused.
W.O Stinson would like to retrieve our equipment with the permission of ******* to avoid false claims of threats and vandalism.

I cancelled my Stinson and sons propane service as Im going with a different supplier October 25, 2023 and yesterday (Luckily I was home) November *************************************************** we would have had to wait longer to get our supplier changed when the weather will only be colder. The salesman I talked to obviously didnt do his job and stop the deliveries. When I called he was apparently busy said the employee who answered and asked if she could help me? So I explained what happened and she asked if I would like the salesman to call back? I said yes please. Its almost end of the following day now and have not heard from him yet. So I doubt I will. Im a single mom who owns a house, Ive been with Stinson at least the past 5 years. The past two years I had two knee injuries and covid twice being off work. I have a balance due from Nov thats around $400. They will not even give me a minimum fill until I can get emergency funds from ******* works or when I go back to work this week. I am completely out of propane though the nice weather is coming, my son and I have no other options than to freeze until summer comes ?? I am always a genuine person who works hard as a nurse. I feel that this company is money hungry, and not family oriented as they make it seem. I will be paying them off when I can and switching my provider very soon.WO Stinson & Son Ltd Response

The account was in arrears by an amount in excess of the $400 alleged by our customer and such that we could not provide more product until the balance was reduced. Arrangements have now been made by the customer to pay a significant amount and we have now delivered product to her.Review from Steve W

I am in the same boat as Bill G22/07/21 . Installed furnace for a customer who decided to use ********************** for propane delivery.... same scam with rejects on installation...keep coming back and find different rejects that are not rejects but actually to code book ..Stinson will not deal with me as their p**** whipped little service manager **** didn't like my tone of voice and now they will not have a site meeting so they can actually read the code book...code book is code book Stinson...whether you like it or not. Little ***** emailed my customer that his feeling were hurt and he wouldn't talk to me any more. Pitiful excuse for a company...stay away. Happily TSSA will be involved shortly and maybe some explanations will be due.WO Stinson & Son Ltd Response

After a couple of emergency surgeries, we fell behind on our bill and owed $2300. We made arrangements with them through the summer and paid off all but $1000. We called in November '22 to make sure we were okay going into the winter with & that no disruption in service would happen. We were not told by anyone that our account had been suspended. In December, we ran out of propane and they refused to refill us unless we payed 1/2 our bill in exchange for 20 days of propane. After talking to a supervisor, we had to pay 1/3 our bill for 10 days of fuel but they wouldn't be able to deliver until next day. We had to sleep in a house that was 12 degrees. In 10 days our propane ran out again, we called and said we got paid the next day and could make another 1/3 payment then. We asked if they could just come and fill us up as we were out. They refused and my wife, who had the flu had to spend 3 days in a 8 degree house. It was miserable and we had no other heating source. Since we got paid every 14 days, the 10 days of fuel, once again would run out before our next ************* would be in the same situation again. It is then we decided to switch companies.In short, we were a family that fell on hard times. Stinsons didn't care and were perfectly willing to let us freeze rather than providing life saving heat until spring and work out payment then. Any company willing to refuse a family heat in the middle of winter, then make the bare minimum effort to provide us with 10 days of heat at a time is simply unacceptable and inhumane. In the end they told us upon collection of the tanks, they would pay only 20 cents per liter of any propane left in the tanks when we were paying $1.02. Propane they will take and resell at full market value. Their company practices border on being cruel by withholding heat that can potentially put a family in danger during the dead of winter. After being with stinsons gas over the last 6 years with multiple properties, they are now attempting to charge a "tank removal fee" of $175 for removing their tanks from a property I no longer own. After contacting many other gas companies in the area, they all stated that stinsons is trying to **** *** ***** you as you don't have a contract with them. When we closed our account there was no mention of any charges and only when the new owner did not want stinsons service to they defer payment. Their staff was aggressive on the phone over the issue and sounded as if they are clearly getting many upset calls about this.WO Stinson & Son Ltd Response

Their furnace service is horrible and questionable. We had them service our oil furnace for 3 years and each time they wanted to complete unnecessary upgrades to the chimney or oil line or furnace or something. They always looked for something to spend money on. Last year they condemned our furnace a month after a $500 furnace repair. Out of 2 replacement estimates they came second so we had another install the new furnace but we considered having Stinsons supply the gas. The installer completed another installation for us in a different rental unit and we had no issues with their service and chose them for this install. Stinsons would not pass the install. It took them three tests to realize the system was holding pressure properly. Then the ground was an issue despite the ground being completed properly thru the circuit breaker. Then the pipe straps were a problem. pipe straps that are commonly used to hold the light exaust air plastic pipes. With 4 visits they wouldn't pass it. Total bogus! They additionally charged for the extra visits and were just miserable to deal with. The installer says they do this to his competing installs all the time.
