We moved to Nova Scotia mid summer 2020, and the learning curves were just preposterous..! Fall season came and realized didn't have enough wood for winter. At a dinner in Chester a trusted friend spoke highly of a firewood vendor. The day after I was in his yard.. Firstly, I learned more in 20 minutes about firewood good practice than ever before - Then I learned it was too late..! (..by December 8 there was no more split seasoned-wood left in the yard..) - After, I learned Frank's also a very kind and helpful person (..probably noticing my ignorance-informed-desperation he pointed to a pile of stuff - Finally, on December 11 two Cords of perfectly seasoned & ready-to-burn "Blocks" were dropping in our yard (..when talking Blocks cubic feet would be more appropriate, but let's keep it simple) So, low and behold.. that's how "Frank Saved Christmas" in 2020 ..lol.. Since then, the learning curves are still high, but one easy thing I can recommend anyone to do is to call him early on (as we did since). We truly recommend Frank's firewood and passion for his work and quality to anyone in the Province, and wish him and ****** a safe and healthy 2022!

I remember that first meeting well. Concerned as I was based on the late time frame for seasoning wood, I felt it was my job to help as best as I could and try educate a Newbie (so to speak as in my world) to the world of cold here and headaches to come when the correct choices are not made in buying wood at the best times of the year. Since then, you have become a good listener, a good friend and person who still wants to know all you can on the heating aspect of comfort and safety. Few people walk that road. I commend you on that trek. For me, blocks and miscuts are a super alternative as you have found. Most of all with miscuts and blocks, they are a super way for less and more heat in a more controllable atmosphere. And the same goes with regular wood as many choices vary from person to person. So, I was super glad to help, and best of all, pleased to have you as both a customer and friend. Take care and hope to see you in this May. In 2019, after 45 years of harvesting my own firewood, I decided to purchase my winter supply. I was given the name of a local vendor, visited his yard, and was told he could supply me with six cords of mixed hardwood cut in December or January for my furnace. We piled it and left it to dry from early June to September when we moved it in to the dry basement. The experience was a nightmare. Despite air drying it for three months and removing 260 gallons of moisture with my dehumidifier, I was forced to burn the furnace wide open all winter, coaxed along with the little dry kindling I had left from the previous year, as the sap sizzled out of the wood; the house was cold; and, instead of fine ash, I had to break the solid mass formed by the sap and moisture into blocks in order to remove it from the furnace. The furnace required constant vigilance. For the last two years, I have purchased my wood from ***** and the contrast has been astounding. I cannot speak highly enough about the quantity and quality of the product, his knowledge and expertise, and the first-rate service we received. The wood burned so well and efficiently last year that we had about a cord left over, giving us a nice supply of two-year old wood to start us off this year - an added bonus! I would recommend ***** without reservation.

You, like many others were truly caught off guard by trusting the wrong people who sell firewood for the wrong reasons and doing to many what had been done to you. That should NOT BE DONE TO ANYONE. I remember your visit to my yard and honestly, I was astonished anyone in the local area here could do this to anyone; and especially - when you put your trust in them. Sadly, and long overdue as I have said many times, ''we do need Government regulations pertaining to people selling firewood, backed only by the experience and a proven track record to be making firewood available to the consumer.' Unfortunately, for going on 8 years now my letters to all 3 Governments has produced nothing other than 'it is not an important issue for us considering there are more important problems to deal with'. Sadly, I disagree. For me, 'ANY PROBLEM is an ISSUE that should be dealt with when Government is asked considering they are supposed to be working for us'. I am glad, however, that you have found both trust in me and both the quality and results that you and your family should have in trying times as this. My goal is simple, 'treat people as you would want to be treated yourself.' I still stand by that. And after I, like you - got burned 15 years ago buying firewood by a couple of locals, my objective came about as getting into the business with hopes of making a difference, while trying to offer better alternatives and solutions backed by honesty, integrity, and most of all, making myself always available to the consumer for whatever their needs. So again, thank you for the compliments, and again, that you for sharing your experience of how you ended up coming to me. And in the end, I am glad we met, became friends, customer and in return, happy with my services. Best of all, super pleased when a customer says they had wood left over after buying from me come the end of the heating season. I have been buying firewood for a few years from various people and have never been truly happy with the quality. This year I tried ***** and it is an unbelievable difference. Wood was delivered on time, stacked perfectly on the truck and I was given the option to measure to the stack before dumping to unsure the right quantity, I was also given the opportunity to measure the moisture content of any piece of wood... all perfect. I have yet to split a piece that was to big and all the wood is clean. Perfect job. highly recommend.

Hi ***** and glad to hear you were pleased. I apologize on the time frame on making a comment on your review, but somehow over the holidays I missed this. I am super happy you were pleased with the product and glad we never left delivery later than we did. Here, this is about making the consumer happy, giving the consumer good wood, proper guaranteed cords and the best wood I can get my hands on. I do pride myself on sticking to my guns to the people I get my wood though that I am willing to pay more for the wood I want. Yes, it might cost us both a bit more, but like anything, buying quality and proper anything does have a bit bigger ticket price. For me, I stand proud knowing I make available what I myself would want for wood being correct cuts, proper moisture probing in the 20% range as is proper, good quality and in my world, both 'A Cut Above The Rest' an and most of all, 'Hand Piled True Cords of wood on all my trucks. This is our second year buying from Frank. The wood is consistently dry and well split with a good distribution of sizes. Always delivered stacked. With Frank you get more than what you pay for.

First year ordering from Frank and I couldn't be more pleased. Frank showed a true passion for the business and the customers he deals with. He schooled me on anything I needed to know about firewood and the industry. He delivered the hand stacked load on the date and time he promised ( even with a broken arm ) and got the truck to dump the wood within a foot of my wood shed to save me some leg work. In our conversation after, I soon learned Frank is a business owner that goes above and beyond for his customers, can be trusted and has a passion for his business like no other. Last year was my first time doing business with Frank Rhynos, I ordered 3 cord of fire wood. He walked me through the different types of fire wood and even invited me to his house to show me first hand the product and how it is hand loaded on each truck to have a true cord of wood. He is very knowledgeable and informative, I had learned lots on how to get the most efficiency out of my fire wood. He was right on time for the scheduled delivery. I will be placing my order in for this years fire wood very soon and wont be going elsewhere.
