      Initially, LIDA Construction appeared to be a premium builder focused on client satisfaction, boasting numerous accolades and awards. However, our experience proved otherwise. We quickly found out that the renovation journey with LIDA would not be reflective of a company that puts clients first. Issues began with the architect and design process, as the plan provided by ADAPT Design did not reflect our requirements. Then came the Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) estimate, which was supposed to provide an accurate project cost, proved highly inaccurate and was used to have us sign a formal contract. After project commencement, a new project manager informed us that the actual cost would be significantly higher than estimated, leading to a dramatic cost increase and leaving us over a barrel as it related to the decision to keep moving forward with the project. Throughout the project, we faced many errors, poor communication, scheduling issues, and unprofessional behavior from tradespeople. LIDA actually had never worked with many of the tradespeople who worked on our project. This led to poor communication between them and LIDA, ultimately leading to poor client communication. Consequently, we had to assume the role of project managers to ensure adherence to the plan. The project manager's unconventional working hours led to frequent disruptions during client sessions, adversely affecting our home-based business. Despite LIDA's claim of "Relentless Pursuit of Client Satisfaction," their focus on our satisfaction was the furthest thing from their minds. We caution others considering LIDA for their home renovation, as our experience was filled with errors and communication, execution, and cost issues. We advise potential clients to avoid the financial and emotional strain associated with engaging LIDA, whose primary focus appears to be on their own interests and the relentless pursuit of profits.
