I am writing to express my concerns regarding the inconsistent billing and service provided by Hammerco Lawyers LLP. The firm, which I found online, assigned me a lawyer who seemed to be frequently unavailable due to time off or vacations. This resulted in delayed progress on my case, as each interaction necessitated a summary of prior discussions due to the lack of continuity in service. These delays culminated in a drawn-out process for what should have been a simple contract, involving 10 revisions and significantly increased costs. However, the primary issue that motivates this complaint is the lack of transparency and consistency in the firm's billing practices. In early 2022, I received an invoice that was presented as the final one from our past interactions in 2021. Despite the surprise, I paid the bill, believing it to be an honest oversight. Yet, more than a year later, I received another invoice for a time period when I was not availing of the firm's services nor in contact with them. This inexplicable error casts doubt on their accounting and administrative processes, causing concern over their overall business practices. This combination of inefficient service delivery and confusing billing practices has led to a deeply unsatisfactory experience with the firm. The systemic issues seem to extend beyond an individual lawyer or a single invoice and suggest a broader problem that warrants investigation. I trust that the Better Business Bureau can provide assistance in this matter to prevent such experiences for future clients of this law firm. I also seek to have this made up charge removed and them stop all their contacts with me.Business response
