I registered Canada Startups for a 2nd time with a new business as the help and support, as well as the funding assistance was much simpler and easier then doing it on my own. In 2017, with help from ******, **** and the team, my catering business was successful at obtaining 120k in funding. Now, events business, following the same practices, using the same idea and logic with the help of ***************, I have secured 37k in funding.

Fantastic service by the Canada Startups team. With their help, we have been able to raise both private funds as well as funding from 3 government options. *************** grants options were right for ** and for our needs and the team at Canada Startups helped open those doors. I worked with an expert by the name of Justin F******* as he was assigned to me when I joined. Justin helped me with:1. My business plan 2. The balance sheet 3. The funding search What Justin was unable to do or help with, he used the other expert who did.This felt like a great experience for somebody like me, learning as I try business ownership and the team here, directly and indirectly helping me were great.CanadaStartups.org Response

I started my business 3 months ago and was really needing someone to bounce ideas off of and reassure me that I was taking the right steps. When I signed up with CanadasStartups they reviewed my business plan first. It turns out I was missing many of the essential parts that I'd need to be considered for funding.We went back and forth a few times to makes sure I had it right, but then once it was ready we moved into figuring out what programs my business might qualify for. I was surprised to see that there were 12 funding programs in my first report. I thought I might only be able to apply to one or two.More than anything, it was just really helpful to have someone to ask questions to when it came to things like how to register my business, what's a Balance Sheet, what to say in my funding application and how to attract new clients.It felt like I had someone holding my hand through my first year in business.Review from Allen C.

Will not provide what you paid for and does not care! Worst service provider for grant and loan assistance. Justin F******* has NO desire to provide professional services. ** ** * **** *** * *****. I have emails to prove my frustration with him. He lied about his identity when I asked for someone else to work with. The work he did on my financials was such a mess that I had to pay someone else to fix them. No professional review of my business plan. No loans that I could qualify for.CanadaStartups.org Response

Hi ******** We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience. However looking into your account, we see that you refused all aspects of the guidance and recommendations made. Unfortunately if you are unwilling to cooperate, the service is not right for you. You were provided multiple experts to work with and you refused each one - after work has been provided to you. I was a bit apprehensive when first registering as a member with CanadaStartups - not because I didn't trust them, but because I was scared of getting turned down by government programs. I didn't even know where to start or how to even build a proper business plan or even where to apply to these so called grant or loans given from the government for businesses such as mine. So, I did some research and then called in and spoke with Noah. He was extremely helpful, well spoken and understood my business. The recommendations he made during our initial chat lead me to signing up to Canada Startups. With Noahs help and having him connect me to my expert, Ive created a business plan, sent it to numerous government programs that Noah, Justin and the expert team suggested - and now I can honestly say Ive secured some funds, with other applications pending and I owe it to you guys! I reached out to this company sometime in early December 2021, I was a bit hesitant seeing as you don't really know who to trust online these days. I was contacted by Liz one of the agents there, she went right into it and provided me with tons of information I wasn't aware of, let me know my options and what I could and couldn't do based on the type of business I Run * * **** ** ***** ******** *********. I let her know I did not have a business plan and was informed a business plan would greatly help me with what I was trying to do. After the call I decided I was going to sleep on my decision of whether to work with them or not, she sent me some info to read over with my husband so we could make an informed decision. When I reached back out to Liz I was definitely on board, I figured it couldn't hurt to get some help, and they did JUST that. I am happy to say my business plan is completed and I've already started to submit applications for funding as well. This business doesn’t perform the way it says it does. The template for business plan is * ****, they charge extra for every service and refuse to communicate via telephone « they are much too busy to talk to each and every client ». Funding resources are also terrible. Total dissatisfaction with this service from A to B.CanadaStartups.org Response

No additional costs are charged as part of your membership with CanadaStartups as you will have all that you need to be provided. Our experts are not phone-based as there are different experts for different needs your business may need. However, you do have access to experts via *** *** ** ****** ******* ****. So if this review is the only thing that helps prevent people from using your service, it's been completely worth my effort.
