I got stop by the police an was issued a violation notice, because apparently the vehicle I bought and registered here in BC, 2 months ago does not have daytime running lights?? This is apparently a mandatory requirements. I was told over the phone by ABC Tireland that it was estimated to cost about $40 to replace the bulbs for daytime running lights. I bought the vehicle in BC and registered it here. Recently, I got issued a violation notice for not having these lights. I specifically chose your shop because you are an approved inspection agency. Sadly, I felt exploited when you charged me $161.00 and inform me, that you do not know what is wrong and you do not know how to fix the issue. I was told to go to the dealership and for them to figure out what is wrong with the daytime running lights then come back and get it fixed cheaper! *** *** ******* ***** * ** *** ************* ***** ***** * ** ******* *** ***** *** ******** *** *************** ** *********** ** **** ****** However, $161 charge to inform me , they do not know what's wrong seems unconscionable. ***** **** **** **** ***** ** **** ** * **** ***** ***** I would not recommend this service shop to anyone. Anyways, I took the car to the dealership and now have to spend like $350 to get the lights fixed on Wednesday. On top of the $161 that was ****** from me at ABC Tireland. Please advise, we spent well over an hour testing a number of fuses regarding the day time running light concern as they are 4 fuse boxes in this vehicle. I actually had to call ***** to verify and confirm I was in the right fuse box for this issue, which they confirmed that it is the one on the passenger under the glove box. Customer was fully aware of my hourly rate which is $135 plus taxes which is what I charged, after the work that my mechanic put in, I explained that it could be the DRL module that could be burnt out which is connected to the fuse box which is under the hood, and it is a dealer fix only.
End of day, what kills me the most, is that this is the same customer that came to me on June 16th for an emergency repair as she got an oil change done at some other shop up the street, and for how crazy busy my shop was that day, we still took her in and fixed the issue. We definitely thought we built more of a customer relationship than having to explain to the BBB about this situation. I run a extremely busy shop, we do not need to try and rip anyone off for $135. Please tell customer to call with the card she used and I will refund her the full amount.

I also find ***** charges to be very exorbitant because if they were aware its a rely problem and the part cost $130, what is the extra $200 charge? This is unsatisfactory to me and I will be logging a complaint. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
