      While I had Technicon Industries fulfill an insurance claim for a small flood it was brought to my attention by someone working on the claim at my home (*** ** *********) that because walls would be taken out it would be a great idea to replace old piping. I thought this was also a great idea. I was told to contact the company for a quote. I did just that, plus I asked for a quote for replacement of a furnace as well. I was told that they had no crew to perform the work, weren't taking on any extra projects, and would not quote on any work. approximately 3 months later someone started taking out the pipes. I told them to STOP! i figured they were at my house to continue the flood damage work. I called the person who was 'supervising' the work at my home (Jess of Technicon) immediately and she said it was a miscommunication and I would not be responsible for paying for their error (she had also been told that the work was not going to happen when I learned the same from the quote dept.). I am now being billed and likely for all of the piping that would have been required. When I called the quote dept. back to discuss this mix up she hung up on me. The manager there said I should have noticed the job being done and stopped it earlier. ******* * *** ******** ******* ****** **** * ******* **** *** ****** ****** ** *** **** **** **** ******* **. Further, they replaced piping leading to my water tank which did not require replacement as it had been replaced only ten years ago and should have been good for another ten. The manager said I should have called them back to say I no longer wanted a quote. They sent the matter (an invoice of approx. $1000 to a collection agency) who reached out to me on April 21, 2023. I contacted the agency immediately to explain I did not authorize this work.

      We give our customers many opportunities to settle their invoices before we send it to collections. At this point it is too late to make any changes to the invoice. We already gave a 30% discount on the invoice. We gave the customer the benefit of the doubt that she didn't know that she had scheduled a plumber or that when the plumber showed up to do the work, she didn't know that it was a plumber.

      I am rejecting this response because I did not schedule the plumber (why would I schedule a plumber and then tell him to STOP and call the company to say "What is going on?"  I did not know a plumber was to show up at my house to replace pipes as I was told no plumber was available, nor would a quote be given to me.

      We agree that there was some confusion and that is the only reason you received a 30% discount. This will be the last reply from Technicon. Your only option at this point is to deal with the collection agency.

      My kitchen flooded on January 1. I contacted Daniel from Technicon who showed up on the 3rd to check on the situation. My friend had repaired the broken water line and I had cleaned up and had heaters and dehumidifiers running. He said everything looks good and returned on the 5th to take measurements for the repair estimates which he told us there’s no charge for.A guy showed up a couple of weeks later to do asbestos testing which was negative.about two weeks later they called to come and do the emergency repairs, I had done everything already except for removing some baseboards in the laundry room and a bit of linoleum flooring. It took over 6 months to finally get estimates.The insurance company sent all the money to me for the emergency, rebuild and parts estimates. I contacted Tecnicon to get a bill to pay them for the work they did and Clint said I owed the amount on the estimate invoice. I mentioned to him that most of the work on the invoice was done by me and would like to pay them for the work they did.He removed a couple of things and then added a charge for the estimates. I have tried contacting them many times and can’t get anyone to return a call.

      This customer received an insurance cheque directly from the insurance company. We have only had this happen a few times. The problem with this scenario is that the customers have the money and don’t like paying us for our services. 

      I spoke with Clint who is one of the owners and the restoration manager and he said he made multiple attempts to settle this with no success. 

      “this guy was given the emergency cheque from ** and took a cash out on his rebuild. He proceeded to argue about our emergency invoice and wanted us to revise which I did. Then he still wanted more taken off, I don't agree with the insureds having the right to dictate what is a fair invoice he has been rude since the beginning. I have sent this to the ** insurance adjuster to decide.”

      Our invoice stands and if he wants to contest it he should talk to his insurance company and not BBB.

      Any other discussions should be between him and Clint.

      I am rejecting this response because:they said stand by their bill which has charges for things that they never did or I don’t have also now adding the charge for estimates that I was told from day one were free I will send copies of invoices and pictures of me doing work and them doing the work they did all I want is a bill for the work they did I have no problem with the amount they charge for the work they did

      As mentioned, you will have to speak with Clint directly. If you exhausted that option than your next best thing would be to discuss this with your insurance company. Clint provides quotes for the insurance companies but our company policy is that we don't just give out quotes. We make special considerations for long term customers and insurance companies. If a quote is being used for the purpose of consultation than that would be something we charge for. We have had only a few issues in 25 years of business and most of those issues are related to the customers. If you are reasonable, you should be able to sort this out in one email or phone call with Clint.

      I again tried to reach out to Clint with no success I find it hard to believe an accredited company committed to integrity, ethical business practices,customer service, trustworthy and honest can not fix this. The original estimate had no charge for doing the estimates it was only after I questioned Clint about charges for things they did not do that he then added those charges again Daniel, Jessica and Alex told me there is no charge for estimates.On January 31 a man showed up with to young men to do the job my wife was home all day.They we’re in and out all day long and coming and going when gone my wife would take the dog out and took a few pictures. When I came home she said they still had a bit to finish in the laundry room. I was a little mad about the mess they tracked dirt from the front door to the kitchen and didn’t clean up the small bits in the kitchen even though my shop vac was sitting in the kitchen all day. I called Jessica in the morning to complain. The man showed up with one of the young ones and asked my wife about the mess and then asked the young one if they took pictures witch he replied no. I was surprised when Clint sent pictures of them doing work since they didn’t take any the first day till my daughter said they looked staged. I looked at the pictures my wife took the day of the work every picture shows my shop vac in the same place it had been for over a month. I used it to clean up their mess after the first day and then put it in the garage. I just don’t see any honesty in of this I would just like to pay for what done and be done

      Hello ****** I have tried contacting Alex with no success I believe he wants nothing to do with this he is done. I tried to contact Clint also with no success. Maybe you could contact your brother Daniel and he can tell you that when he came to my house on January 3rd and 5th there was no charge for the estimates .Then maybe you could talk to Clint.My last message from him he said he was not going to change the invoice he still wants payment for the free estimates and for the work that I did.       I have answered Gus and his wife more than once since, and quite a few times before this complaint came in. They have a cheque from there insurance company that belongs to Technicon for work done at there residence, I have tried to get there insurance adjuster involved but he is back east dealing with the hurricane issues. I am also tired of trying to deal with them on this situation as they are unreasonable, I removed $900.00 from the invoice just to try and make them happy and they still want more and this isn’t even there money.
