I was quoted $800.00 for a tub surround that took nearly one year to arrive in Edmonton. When I picked up the 5Th Wheel was told that the part that arrived by not totally fitted my plumbing and consequently they wanted $2200 and after a long discussion was reduced to $1600. They(mis) ordered the part and never indicated to me that there was any problem until I picked it. Someone nearby spoke to me afterwards and said I was "royally screwed". I paid it reluctantly since they had my RV as hostage and would not release it until the account was paid. I expect them to honor the original quote. If the part did not fit that was their responsibility.Business response

As far as we can recall, the customer ordered a shower surround which would come from the factory in the states in June/21, as we recall there would be freight if he wanted the surround within a reasonable time frame and we believe that is where the up to $800 freight charge comes in, he did not want to pay freight and opted for a unit load (part came in a new trailer) Due to covid restrictions the surround took almost a year to get here. I let him know the part was here and booked him in for the install. The customer did not ask me how long the install would take. After I spoke to my boss we took off the modification Charge of 1.5/hr and charged him what the install would take 6.7/hrs this is a fair charge which he agreed to and thanked me for doing this for him and there never was mentioned we were holding the trailer hostage. Also part of this cost included installing the customer supplied back up camera and he did not pay the brokerage charge.
