We had Big Iron Drilling install an iron eater in our home July 13, 2023. We had discussed the concerns of installing the iron eater on our existing bored well, as it does not have a high water recovery rate, and our concern of the pump being overworked and drawing sediment into it. The man in charge (****** *****) assured us that this iron eater would work on our system, that the backwash cycle was like someone taking a shower, but never could give us an actual number of gallons used. We decided to trust his judgement, and had it installed. The iron eater has now filled our bored well with sand and sediment, as we feared, and has pulled the sand through all our plumbing. We now must replace our kitchen faucet, both toilets, and we have not been able to test our dishwasher or washing machine. We now must have a well drilling company come and try to clear the sand away from the pump and pray that works and the well is salvagable, or we are looking at drilling a new well. We have been trying in vain to reach ****** to try to discuss options with him, but to no avail. He will not return our calls, or our email. We have been without water now for over a week, and still not sure what it will take to get water running here again, or what else may need replacement once we are able to clear our lines of sediment and sand.Initial Complaint

On April 27th, 2022 Big Iron Drilling sent a repair man to fix our water softening system originally purchased and installed by them. They agreed to a cash deal. We paid $2400. After a couple weeks things didn't seem to adjust and it wasn't working. After several phone calls to the repair guy, ******, and with no help we started calling the company. Months went by. Finally, ****** came, said the wrong parts were used and the guy not only messed up but he ran off with the money. He promised it would be fixed. We sent a water sample to Edmonton, called and called. The short story, ****** then left the company as he was unhappy with things there. We finally got in contact with the *****, *** who has been promising since then to get it repaired and that his son, ****** would be on it. After several phone calls, unfulfilled promises and 5 months later still no repair. After ruining our appliances, having to hand wash dishes and clothes smelling, now the water is so salty it stings and burns our eyes. Having a new baby with open heart surgery and feeding tubes requiring clean water, we are having to purchase water. We've pleaded, begged, threatened, called and have been given constant promises and the run around. We need something done. We weren't given a receipt or paper work from the repair man. Please help! , the owner convinced us we needed to drill below the bedrock into uncontaminated water and they would install a sleeve that they had invented to keep the ground water from mixing with the clean water below the bedrock. Then they go and use contaminated slue water to drill the well and their $1000+ sleeve seal has allowed the two waters to mix so the water level has gone from 90' when well was new, to 25', 5 years later, the level of contaminated ground. water. We could never figure out how that clean water so readily grew green algae in a tank or chicken waterer, except that slue water was used to drill the well and thus permanently contaminated the water. I only found out about the water level when I was in the process of buying a deep well hnd pump. So now the whole well water is contaminated. Paid $15000 to go 180 feet deep, and may as well just dig a shallow well. ** **** **** ****** ***** * ****** *******Customer response
