HORRIBLE PEOPLE Had miscommunication from the beginning. Straightened out and made payments without issue. They since said I have several nsf and in arrears. Constantly calling and causing harm to my health. Sent them screenshots of every payment and on time. They yet to admit wrong doing. Horrible people , and I regret going thereReview from Dustin M

They charge $180 to defer a $260 payment and charge $130 for an nsf. They also have a high interest rate. They don't try to work with thier customers. It was unfortunate cause I overextended my credit so I got stuck with them on a motorcycle will never deal with them again in the future. Do not recommend they do not have any care for you thier customers. Even during covid and economic down fall they won't work with anyone.Santander Consumer Inc Response

immature responsibility on there part! I had my car for quite awhile now and paid my payments on time. Never missed one**** until recently. Apparently because of the long weekend they did not take any payments and allowed me to miss a payment, so customer service mentioned that i could either pay it again or add it to the end of the contract. figuring that i am a mature adult, i did mention that i would pay it again. So, they day came to pay it, however I noticed again that they did not take, so now i missed another payment. i got a phone call from you telling me that i missed my payment, however your fault that you did not take it. So, this time without any options, they told me i will have to pay it next 2 weeks and it will effect my credit. Well santander consumer inc. Your just as immature as the next. i hate you guys for doing this to me and i cannot wait till i finish with you guys. im trying so hard to make this right and make my payments on time, and pay when i said i will. However, with your lack of service, i now missed two payments because you did not want to take it out my account when you said you would have. How can i gain that i trust i had in you now? i hope you train and how to communicate with customers because this is very immature. im just trying to get my credit back up and your just bringing me down.Santander Consumer Inc Response

I am not happy with the company. I had gotten a vehicle that was not what I was supposed to get and the contract was void due to improper documentation. I sent the vehicle back within a couple of months after getting it as I contacted the company and filed a complaint with them. Now this company is saying that I still owe them money.Santander Consumer Inc Response

Ok so I paid off my car loan with Santander and they took 2 more payments after it was paid off. As of today I still have not been refunded the over payments. The phone number does not work. All attempts to contact them by phone and email have not been answered or returned. Just my opinion but they want your business but don't want to provide adequate customer service. I find that financial institutes in general do not care about their customers. If you miss a payment for whatever reason they have no problems communicating! I would not recommend using them I give them a poor rating.Review from Gord H

I bought a 2018 Dodge Ram sport , i was paying weekly , then in December my job changed. i called them requesting a change of date for my payments , they charged me for a NSF ,which l believe l gave them the appropriate amount of time.we agreed on the phone as my paycheck dates had changed for the 15th an the last day of the month,however they were trying to get me to sign a new contract with a higher interest rate than l had originally signed ,which l wouldnt agree to , to me it was just a simple date change for the payments to come out of the bank. suddenly they started going into my bank account before my paydays, so they could charge me more NSF fees, i then had to change banks because even though the bank i was dealing with put the payment thru even with a stop payment on my account, i felt that having someone going into my account whenever they felt like it was extremely wrong an against the law. i changed banks an put the payments into a saving account with full intentions to pay but they had to listen first which was like talking to a brick wall.i spokke to a lawyer several times , an they confirmed what they were doing to me was illegal, however in **************** there is a law that protects consumers called seize or ***. i let them seize the truck ,however with their antics i suffer with them destroying my credit which l worked tirelessly for the past 6 years to restore. i think that there should be criminal charges of how they treated me an decided that they can go into my bank whenever they dam well wanted . I am not happy with the company. I have been dealing with Caren and she is less than helpful. I was off sick with COVID- and I do mean SICK. It was terrible, I couldn't even get out of bed. I had an arrangement that broke due to being sick and she was not willing to help at all. She stated, I'm in quarantine with COVID and so are my kids, but I am working and we are fine. WOW absolutely no compassion at all and had the audacity to compare her situation with mine. She has no idea what medical issues I have and what COVID did to me. Instead just threatened to have my car repossessed. Her supervisor also was no help at all, rude and short, didn't care what I had to say, she wouldn't even listen. I'm only 57 days past due, and I am very willing to make arrangements. Sad what kind of people are working for this company.Santander Consumer Inc Response

If I could give a negative rating- I would! THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY IN EXISTENCE. I had a car loan with them for 6 months and it was nothing but a headache the entire time. Taking out extra payments, and taking out payments THREE WEEKS AFTER I traded my car in and refusing to refund it. Avoid this company like the plague! Their staff are EXTREMELY rude and completely useless. ************ **** ********
