On June 20, 2022, BBB reached out to Canada's Leading Van Lines (CLVL) to discuss concerns regarding recent inquiries, complaints, and customer reviews. BBB requested additional information on their start date, their locations, including any locations for storage. As well, BBB requested clarification on how quotes are provided, as well their policies regarding insurance and liability coverage, and how they are disclosed to customers. BBB did request information on CLVL's affiliation with other movers on long-distance moves and the associated liabilities using third party movers. Finally, BBB requested terms and conditions on a guarantee listed on their website, and confirmation of any licensing they may have in place.

On June 23, 2022, CLVL provided a response addressing our concerns. They have confirmed that they incorporated in 2018, but started servicing customers prior to this date. CLVL only has a Calgary office that is open to clients, and is currently listed on this profile. They do not have any other locations, and storage is offered through their affiliates and public storage facilities across Canada. CLVL currently only offers quotes online and in writing, and do not offer in-home estimates at this time. 

CLVL offers Standard (Basic) Liability coverage at 60 cents per pound, per article which is built into the quote (note, there is a deductible). Upgraded and additional coverage is available at request, but the coverage must be requested at least one day prior, and written confirmation must be provided. Customers can obtain their own third party coverage, and can check with their insurance provider. CLVL does not provide coverage for third party property damage, or coverage for owner packed items. BBB encourages consumers ensure that they are fully covered prior to their move. 

CLVL confirmed that they have no direct affiliation with other movers, but may use any other long distance carrier to accomodate clients' needs (such as in the case of transporting vehicles). If another company is going to be used for part of the service, the customer would be contacted in advance if needed.

CLVL has made amendments to their website regarding advertised guarantees, and they do not require any licensing.
