      I had been with Grasshopper Irrigation since March 2018. Turn-ons and turn- offs of the system in Spring and Fall always went smoothly until this Spring, 2023.The tech arrived and could not find the boxes in the front and back yards. Despite the fact the tech that did the winterization in November 2022 made a note saying he only found one box, no note was put in the file as to where that box was located.Consequently, for the Spring 2022 turn on, the tech spent a lot of time looking for these boxes. I eventually worked with him and found them, but I was charged for this time. In addition, the tech suggested replacing the control box and said he had one in his truck. After 20+ minutes in the basement, he determined that the control box he had in his truck did not fit. Again, I was charged for this time.In addition, when the tech handed me the invoice (you have to pay when he is there), he said I was being charged for his drive time to my house. I never heard of this and was never told of this ahead of time.I called to speak to the office about these charges and never received an acceptable response. Ultimately, the person checked with the manager and was told I would get a $100 credit. When I came back from vacation to follow up on the itemized invoice and the credit, I was told my account was inactive.That was that! I have never had a bad experience with a home service provider before and cannot believe this company and owner are still in business.

      Here at Grasshopper, we try to provide the best customer/ field experience possible. Sometimes you cannot please everyone, we had gotten her system up and running, replaced one head, with the suggestion of upgrading the controller. We charge as time and materials from when we get in the truck to when we get there and leave. I apologize you felt so negatively, we were servicing this customer for many years with no problems but the way she reacted to this was not fair to my office staff and we do not need someone who acts the way she did towards them.

      I've been a Grasshopper Irrigation customer for four years. Today their technician came to turn our drip system on for the summer. I called the office to complain about (1) the technician's showing up early without notifying me so that I could ask some questions about the system, (2) a small parts charge on the invoice (they had shut the system off last fall, so how could parts be missing?), and (3) how to shut the system off because the pump was running even after I turned the controller off. The young woman I spoke with kept telling me not to yell at her. I had her on speaker and my husband was listening. He was as surprised as I was because I wasn't yelling. She told me the tech would call when he'd finished his other jobs. I told her it was an emergency but she said there was nothing she could do about it. We ended the call. Next thing I knew, the owner called and told me our maintenance contract was canceled. I was incredulous and asked if at least someone would come to turn the pump off but he hung up on me! I had to call the town's water ***** and someone showed up immediately and helped me turn the water off. Bottom line: RUN, don't walk, away from this company!
