Somehow this company made an error and not having my payments on auto. I get a cancellation email and now I had to pay $400. And again this is happening. I will be canceling my insurance and going elsewhere.Homesite Group Incorporated Response

For 4 years they have been quiet no issues. Today comes the 2024 billing cycle and I got hit with a 272% increase in premium. When I called, I was told by more than one person the same thing, "dwelling increase, increased cost, storm perils, non-catastrophic" were the reasons for the hike. When I told her I understand that an increase for those reasons is bound to happen in this economy but a 272% increase for those in on year when we haven't had a bad weather year in north *******, and the new housing market has slowed is unacceptable. She didn't seem to care, got mildly annoyed and told me I can raise my deductible 100% or more to lower my cost. Well, the problem is I went from $1363 to $3710, and it was already pulled from my escrow. How does changing my deductible help me in the moment rather than just raise my cost if something were to happen between now and next year's renewal? (my renewal hasn't even gone into effect yet)This is absurd to have to pay over $2347 more essentially for reasons that quite frankly were far worse in 2022, yet no increase happened!I will be talking with my attorney as well as an insurance broker because I can find no other person in my area with several different companies that have had such an absurd hike in cost. Its just downright criminal with the customer service experience level of someone reading from a script.** When she originally pulled up "my acct" to tell me the reason why it went up she read me off someone else's reasons for the state of *****. I live in *******, yet the reasons were exactly the same**Homesite Group Incorporated Response

I applied for a homeowner policy online and sent an email reply to cancel the insurance immediately. They still withdrew funds out. Of my account and held my funds over 10 days without ever issuing a policy . How do you withdraw funds before a policy is issued ? Thats illegal. I am contacting the insurance bureau, CFPB and attorney general.Homesite Group Incorporated Response

Stole $412 from me. They committed a billing error and won't fully correct. I paid my $412 premium on 4/30/2024. Since then, they won't apply my payment to my policy, and they also won't return the payment. They canceled me on 7/11/2024 due to non-payment, despite me making a payment, and told me to take it up with my bank.Homesite Group Incorporated Response

If I could give zero or negative stars I would... This company has by far been the worst. My policy should have been cancelled for 9/7/23 however unknowing to me I still had a policy didn't know anything until a renewal came in the mail 06/28/2024. I called found out it was still active and now they refuse to back date to the sale date of the home. How I have any legal right to even have coverage on a home I do not own for 4 months I don't know. Let alone the fact I did not receive 1 piece of mail email or anything with in 09/07/23-06/28/24 acknowledging I still had this policy to give me any sort of chance to cancel it it's beyond me. And next getting the refund check that's a ridiculous process. ***** days but then if you back date it's more like ***** days because they cancel out the first check and don't escalate it. None of the representatives can tell you what is going on I waited almost an hour to speak with a supervisor. Just to get told I get to pay for homeowners insurance on a house I do not legally have any right to. How this is ethical or legal I do not know. But I strongly recommend avoiding progressive homesite.Homesite Group Incorporated Response

I am SO Not happy with this company's way of business at all and will be changing my car insurance since they cannot even seem to get information correctly. I purchased a new home and called for a quote from Geico as well as two other companies, and I decided to go with the builder for my home insurance. I sold a home that Geico was my home insurance for that property, and they then reminded me that I still owe them for my new home insurance. I stated on 3/19 when I cancelled my sold home that I went with another company, and they stated they will update their records. I just received another notification from them dated 3 /22, sent to an address of a property that is do not own and then a text for it now going to debt collection. I called again today 7/9 and they stated that I did not go through the process to cancel the insurance. How do you cancel something you only requested a quote from? I will be moving my car insurance because if they cannot even take proper notes on phone calls, God forbid I must put in a claim for my car. If i could give a negative 10 rating I wouldHomesite Group Incorporated Response

Worst home owners insurance on earth. My name is *********************, if I could rate this company a Zero, I truly would do so!!! . I filed a claim concerning roof damage.Inspection(s) done by the adjuster and two contractors indicated damage, this information was documented & provided to Homesite. They determined amount of claim settlement based on what they deemed the age of the roof to be; which was an astronomical depreciation value (non retrievable), plus deductible thereby payout was very minimal. Two roofing companies communicated that the roof had been replaced in prior years therefore the depreciation should have been less than number of years Homesite calculated. Requested pics were submitted indicating new nails in the attic. They did not acknowledge their Own Request (pics) but then requested permit filed showing the roof had been replaced. Once again the roofing company indicated that filing a permit in my county for roof replacement is NOT REQUIRED. Homesite CANNOT prove the age of the roof being the original or otherwise and has stated that the burden of proof is on me. I sincerely hope they go out of business in the way they treat their customers super unfairly.Homesite Group Incorporated Response

Customers DO NOT US *************************************** I have had a claim filed for over a month for Wind and Hail damage, at first they would never call me back, when I finally got a call back they said they were sending me the information, its been a week and I have yet to get the information and they wont return my calls again******* Since this we have had several more storms, causing more damage and loss of hay etc. I now I have lost my contractor because they said if I cant even get them to send me the first estimate then they are worried on how long it will take for supplements because there is more damage now since they have drug their feet. and so now not only are they not getting back to me I have lost my contractor also... This company needs to be held accountable for this!Homesite Group Incorporated Response
