A worker showed up at my house and said he was going to disconnect the water. My daughter in law said she would pay it. He said ok and left. I paid the bill online. My son called the water company in Prairieville and told them it was paid. They said he had to pay a reconnect fee of $120. He paid it because they told him he had to. He called me and I called them complaining. I told them nothing was touched on my property. That he never disconnected anything. I told her that he walked up and then left. The First Lady I spoke with told me she would have him go back out there and shut it off and then turn it back on. I told her I wanted to speak to someone above her. The second lady told me that he stepped on my property and was intercepted in an attempt to shut the water off. She stated he hung the hanger on the door and attempted to shut it off but was intercepted. I told her he walked up, knocked on the door, didn’t hang anything on it, said he wouldn’t shut it off since it was going to be paid and he walked away. I told them it wasn’t right to charge people a disconnect fee when they never disconnected anything. I told her I could see if he disconnected it but he never touched anything. I ask to speak to someone above her because it’s just not right. And being told by the First Lady that they would have him come back out to shut it off and turn it back on to justify the $120 charge is very unprofessional. She refused to give me her bosses number stating her boss was at a doctor appointment. I ask for the one above her boss and she refused to give me that also. I told her I would find it myself since nobody wants to help me and I hung up. I’m very upset. How can it be justified to charge someone a reconnect fee when they never disconnected anything? What if I placed a sign in my yard stating any company who steps foot on my property will be charged $200 for my time. I’m being charged $120 for a person walking on my property and not touching anything. This is wrong.

Diversion Water company often has meter readers which come out and state they read our water meters - but actually they never read them - they just make an estimate. Many times this water company has read my water - and my usage is triple my normal usage. Then when you call to get help - the office manager just yells at you - and comes up with ever excuse why they didn't do anything wrong - even though she had someone come out and re-read the meter - and it was actually not read - at all - a just fabricated number. This has occurred many times over the years. The last misread reading - it was even done by a supervisor. I was then overcharged- and the correction to the misread - was to then charge me almost 1.5 times my normal usage - so this month- my bill is more than normal- but next month - I will be forced to pay the minimum fee - since they will only be reading the meter based on 1/2 a month. Basically- I'm getting charged more for their mistake - intentionally not reading my meter - and stating on my bill is was actually read. They are offering no apology- basically the office manager just yells at you - and says take it or leave it - to sum it up. She doesn't want to actually help or provide anything for their mistakes. She doesn't even understand- they are actually charging me more when you combine the 2 months bill - when I'm now paying a minimum amount for not using enough water - because they overcharged me this month. Basically- they are making more money from their mistakes. And now I'm paying more for water - I'm not even using. This should not be legal.
