Amazing service! If you want a company that knows how your garage door works and will repair it correctly, don't look any further. Ernie is an amazing technician that really cares about repairing your door right. He gave a fair assessment on what needed to be done and communicated clearly so that I felt confident that I was taken care of. I have done business with Overhead Door for a long time and have always been satisfied with their work.Overhead Door Company of the Capital City Response

March 15, 2022 I walked in Overhead Doors in Zachary, La. I told ******, the owner, that I thought my spring was broke on my garage door. How much would it cost to change the spring. I have been doing business with ****** and ****** ****** for over 36 yrs. ****** asked me why I didn't get them to install my 2 garage doors 4 yrs. ago. There was a big difference in price when compared to ***'s Garage Doors. She said that ***'s doors are cheaper made. ***'s use Lift Master which is a very good door. She said it would cost between $395 and $495 to change the spring. I said I was not going to pay that much. She told me to take a picture of the spring and she could give me a price. I sent a picture and she texted back $295. I said OK come tomorrow. The Tech arrived on time 8:30 AM. He told me it was not the spring, it just needed adjustment. I said great how much is your service call. He said that he would have to call to get the price. I'm thinking no more than $150. He fixed the door and serviced both doors. It took less than 30 min. He called in and said it would be $275. I was shocked. $275 for a service call? He said that is what they told me. The next day March 17, I went in the office and had ****** come outside so we could talk. I asked him don't you think $275 is excessive for 30 min service. He said everything has gone up. His truck needed an engine and transmission it cost $25,000 to fix. He blamed Biden, insurance, fuel, materials. At this point I knew that I was not going to get a refund. The end of discussion. Then his wife steps out, she must have been eavesdropping. She got rude and told me to get Pat's Doors to give me a refund because they didn't tighten the rod when they installed it. I told her I didn't want to talk to her any longer and drove off.
I'm 70 years old and until now, I have never paid $275 for a service call. Not for AC, appliances, plumbing or any other repair.
In a way I'm glad. I still saved $1000 +I will never have to call OverheadOverhead Door Company of the Capital City Response

Hi Mr. **** ***********
I'm sorry that you felt I was rude. I think it was in response to the rude and slightly threatening way you spoke to me and my secretary the first time you came into the office. I have not stopped thinking about the incident because you were so off setting in your rudeness. I would not speak to women in that way going forward. I did tell you that things have gone up and there is a supply chain disruption. You began yelling forcibly and calling all businesspeople names. I then suggested I call the manufacturer and let them tell you there was supply chain problems. You declined.
At that point, you stated that the company that furnished and installed your doors three years ago was not being responsive to your request for service. You said the three or more times the other garage door company has gone out over the last three years has been for 'Free'. I asked you for a photo of your garage door. My verbal quote in the office went down from $395.00 to $295.00 after viewing the photo because your spring was not broken.
The reason for the quote of $295.00 from the photo was that your door was obviously in dire need of service. The door and spring were out of balance and in the photo you sent the panels were all out of alignment. It looked as though you were getting ready to have to possibly replace the door from the photo. The two trained technicians went out after you agreed to the amount of $295.00 via text message, but you were given a discount to $275.00 after the completion of the work. You only showed one door, but we worked on two doors for a discounted price of $275.00.
Work included adding tension to both door's spring which indicates the two doors have not been properly serviced since the installation by the other garage door company. Also the set screws for the drive gear on the operator was never properly tightened from the original date of installation by the other company. The set screws had been finger tightened rather than with the proper rachet and socket. The two techs balanced and adjusted your two high lift garage doors. The two techs lubricated all moving parts which had not been done in a very long time which is a recommendation from the factory manufacturer. All of these service tasks assist in your garage doors having an extended life. The reason for your service request was the problems you were having with your doors. Also the techs demonstrated the manual disconnect system for your operators. According to your words, the other garage company had never explained the disconnect system to you. Your doors were sorely in need of service. Lack of service leads to many problems including having to replace doors and operators before their average life expectancy. There was at least an hour or more in your job. You had the service of a master technician of 20 years with his trained assistant. Your doors are now functioning properly. At the completion of the job, you told the two techs, "The doors sound so much better." Your doors and operators are not standard. Maybe the other company did not understand how to service this complicated high lift door and side mount operator? Installation is much easier than service.
Our quote was based on the condition of your garage door in the photo you sent. Only after the techs arrived, did you say you had two doors. We honored our quote of $295.00 and actually gave you a discount down to $275.00. You authorized the price going into the job via a text message for $295.00. Then you complained when you were given the discounted price of $275.00 for working on two high lift doors and two wall mount operators rather than one door to the two techs at the jobsite.
You angrily came into the office to demand we work for much less. You tried to intimidate us into going down on our pricing. You were paying for our knowledge and skill sets which were learned over many years. You have had the other company that installed your doors go out three or more times for 'free' as per your words, and they did not get your doors and operators working correctly.
In conclusion, I asked you if you had had any problems with the Overhead Door we installed for you in the year 2000. You said, "I have had no problems."
