Last year we booked the venue for a reception. Due to Covid we had to change the dates a few times. On February 15 we contacted ***** about the a refund due to the changes. She informed us we could change the dates but no refunds. I asked her what dates she had available in May. She stated she had May 8 and the 20th and June 4th. We went with June 4th 7-1 am. On May 24th she called us stating her son double booked the venue and we no longer could have our party. She offered me to change the dates but I couldn't. All the other vendors we were using were Non-Refundable also. She then offered me to change my time to a later time that night. I already had scheduled 7-1 am how much later she wanted me to have it? She stopped answering the phone from our calls. She called later that night I explained to her why I couldn't change my times or dates. She offered me her other building for $1000 which is more smaller. I had my friend call her the next day asking for prices she told her the smaller building is $600. Not only did she put me in a bad place with trying to find another building around graduation but she charged me more for the other building. I called her and informed her I found another venue for an extra $600 and asked her can she give me $300 extra to help with the inconveniences. She told me she do not have the money she didn't even have my $1400 we paid for the building. So she told me she will pay me $1000 before the end of the day 5/25/22 and $700 by 6/1/2022. I told her to text me that so I could have proof of this agreement she agreed. I text her about 15 minutes after we got off the phone no response. I texted her again saying I was still waiting. She called me later stating she spoke with her son and all she need to give me was $1400. Due to people always canceling events. I informed her 10 days was unacceptable and bad business. She stated no one told me to book a building that was more. I promise I called so many venues none was available.
