      I bought a truck from ross Downing Chevrolet approximately one month ago THE WORST EXPERIECE OF MY LIFE. It began with an inexperienced Sales person, knew nothing about my truck accept how to connect my phone to onstar. the truck was not prepped for delivery, but yet the salesman had plenty of time to sit and talk with us,instead of prepping my truck. The experience continued when my truck was damaged, not by Ross Downing, and I had to take it to the Service Department. ****, the service writer, told me that the truck had suffered catastrophic damage and it would need to be an insurance claim, cost would be around $2,000-2,500. He then told me I could take the truck somewhere else, as he did not want to work on it. This is the Service Writer saying this. During this continued Nightmare not one manager came to assist or even inquire about the problem. I had to go find what I assume was a manager. Conclusion The repair that was catastrophic took 45 minutes and $400.00 to repair. This company needs to be flagged WORST DEALERSHIP IN HAMMOND AND NORTHSHORE.

      On March 9, 2024 we took our Chevy Silverado to Ross Downing Chevrolet due to an engine noise and high temperature issue. This was the second time we brought the vehicle in. The previous attempt resulted in us picking up our vehicle since it sat there for 2 days without being looked at (February 2024). We were told it was the radiator and the warranty would be contacted about replacement. A few days later the part was received and we were told they "ran into an issue" fixing the vehicle and it was not ready. At this point, we asked for a loaner vehicle as it has been 5 days and we needed to get to work. We were told they did not have a loaner and to contact the warrant company above because they cover car rental reimbursement. I checked the rates of the local car rental companies after being told our policy pays $35 per day. The cheapest rate was $77 per day with tax. We called the dealer again and stated this and asked to speak with a manager. No manager ever called us. We ended up picking up our track the next day and therefore only needed the rental for one day, We are asking for the difference in what the warranty company paid and what we had to pay due to the lack of communication in having a manager call us back about the loaner vehicle, Having a vehicle in the shop for 6 days for a radiator repair is not acceptable. It is not our fault they "ran into issues" repairing it. I want to know why nobody from management ever contacted me?

      Ross Downing was incredible. From trading in my previous vehicle all the way to buying a new one, they made the process tremendously easy and worthwhile. I’d especially like to recognize the people who provided us with outstanding service. For privacy, I won't mention their names here on the BBB website, but they are all wonderful people who went above and beyond to assist us with finding a car that we loved that was well within our budget. They also didn't try to upsell whatsoever which makes this business even more commendable. I have never had such phenomenal service at any other establishment. Most dealerships I've encountered only care about making a sale rather than the person who is making the purchase. It didn't feel like that at Ross Downing. Everyone involved with the process made us feel like we truly mattered and that's what made our experience all the more worthwhile. Thank you again for everything you have done for us. We most certainly look forward to doing business with you again in the future and being one of your most loyal, long-term customers.

      We have had very little interaction with this dealership, however our one experience has been terrible. The engine in our 2021 Escalade died and we were told it would need to be replaced under our warranty. ******* in service said that a vehicle had been set aside for us to use while the vehicle was being repaired. We decided to see if it would be in our interest to trade in the vehicle for a new one. Upon talking to Seth, the GM, we decided that we would just move forward with the repair and forgo a trade. We were in luck, because according to *****, the service manager, Ross Downing was the only dealership that had this engine in stock, because they anticipated the issue with this 6.2L 8 engine. This happened on Friday, and on Monday morning on the way to pick up loaner vehicle, we received a call from ***** saying that he is being told they are refusing to work on our car and we needed to have it towed somewhere else for service. We have filed a complaint with Cadillac, and am dumbfounded by the arrogance of the General Manager. ***** and ******* in service were both great, and at least had the decency to return our calls. The GM is clearly not doing whats best for the brand, but what is best for his ego.

      I brought my car in because when I'd put it in park it would still say shift in park. Also whe I hit a certain speed the car would wobble. They did a diagnostic and said the wobble was from a bad tire and the shift was a internal thing . So I told them to change the tire with was on the back of the car and I'd deal with the shift soon. Pick my car up and still had to pay a diagnostic fee because I didn't fix both problems right at that moment witch is bull. But anyway got in my car and I almost make it home and a cluster of new problems start happening that never happend before . Front right tire censor freaking out.and everything I press and release the gas while driving there's a whisp sound now. Called in and told them what was going on and I was told that they never touch the front tires or anything that would make the car whisp. But I guarantee if yall look at the cameras someone messed up something.so I brought my car in and overpaid for a tire job and left with it more fucked up.i was told to bring back in but i have to work for a living like everyone else and have no other transportation .

      Dealership sold a car that I had applied for financing on the week prior. They drug their feet on processing the financing approval from Friday, through Saturday, then waited until Monday afternoon to come back with an approval. I was promised that the car was held until they had a determination on my financing status. I proceed to get a ding on my credit scores from a hard check... followed by an approval, and then a sudden apologetic phone call that while I was considered to have excellent credit and was approved no problem, they had sold the car that was promised to be held an hour before they even started processing my financing application to someone that walked in the door Monday at lunch. So now I'm out a 3 bureau hard check (actually I have 6 now, as I financed elsewhere) on my credit AND I have no car to show for it... as well as a $200 hotel room that is now useless as I was going to fly in to pick up the car. The excuse given was that in-person customers have priority over all other deals. This dealership's sales team is absolutely a bunch of frauds and liars- DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE.

      Ross Downing Buick GMC Gonzales if you plan on getting your Buick fixed Ross Downing Buick GMC Gonzales is not the place. They have bullshited for 2 months. I was finally able to bring it in 4 weeks ago. My car is still not fixed they have not called for me to bring it back to be worked on and I have called everyday this week with no response from ***** (service manger). When I called them I had 41,000 miles I’m now at 44,000 miles. When I brought my car 4 weeks ago for them to check it out their grown little boy ****** (grown boy with a disrespectful mouth/sales team member) came out into the service area and mocked my needs of needing a loaner vehicle, since ***** did not correct ******s speaking to a customer (myself) I had to correct him. Which ****** and ***** then tucked their tail between their legs and went into the building. Being kind to these people was pointless so I became nasty and only speak in a nasty tone to them. There was only one Lady who was completely kind and apologized for her coworker & manger’s behavior. My car is struggling soooooooooo bad. If anyone knows of a good place get a Buick fixed please let me know. I need a turbo & now exhaust, who knows what else is now wrong with my car. I found out they have had my parts for over a week. This dealership is a joke! ***** (Manger)in service said he WILL NOT work on my car if I wait on it but if I leave he’ll work on it. This whole dealership is a joke. Since I’ve spoke with them this morning and found out they’ve had my parts, told him I can be there Friday and wait on my car ***** said I am not allowed to wait on my own then said he refuses to work on my vehicle and look somewhere else. This man ***** (Manger in service)has caused me so much stress to the point of throwing up and has caused more things to mess up in my vehicle.

      On May 1, 2023, I went into Ross Downing GMC/Chevrolet/Buick in Gonzales to buy a truck. I had a diesel to trade in and was told that due to it being tuned with a DEF delete that I had to take a “hit” on my trade because it could only sold wholesale. My truck was blue-booked at $52k on trade-in and I had to take $47k because it “couldn’t be sold since the dealership couldn’t put a warranty on it.” Even though I provided the dealership with the same warrant I bought on the truck less than two years prior. Two weeks after trade-in, I got a call from a friend of mine that the dealership was trying to sell my old truck to him. It was parked out front on their lot with a sticker on it for resale. I only accepted what I did on the trade because I genuinely believed they were being honest with me about not being able to sell the truck on their own lot. As a result, I am out $5k on a trade-in and both the finance manager, Shane, and the sales manager who’s name I don’t remember flat out lied to my face and made a deal fraudulently knowing that the vehicle could and would be sold on their lot.

      11/8/22 I bought a 2023 Terrain. In February I took it in to be serviced for rattling in the dash and the driver door. Over a week later I was notified it was fixed and I could pick it up. Continued to have rattling. Took it back in, in early March. When I expressed my concerns the service lady stated "well it is a Terrain". Days later they called and reported they couldn't find the problem and ask if I could drive them to duplicate the noise. I expressed my concerns to the manager that rode with me and he stated "it's a Terrain, it's gonna have some rattles". A week later I'm notified that it is "fixed". No sir it isn't, and now there are more gaps in the seams of the dash. After calling several times I eventually spoke to the Mr. ** ******* and discussed with him the issue and the statements made by two employees. He noted he would call back after getting more information from the service department. Nearing 3 weeks and still waiting on a call to get the problem resolved. It continues to rattle and now the blind spot sensors do not work as they should. I filed a complaint with GMC. Ross Downing's report to GMC is "Aggressive driving on an aggressive road". The numerous videos of my daily drive with speeds ranging 25 to 70 on various roads will reflect differently. Add insult to injury, the man that runs/owns this site is up close and personal with my family members. I've bought from his grandfather, his dad and now his location. My last. There are many dealerships that will welcome sales to myself and you.

      Ross Downing GMC Gonzales The sales ladies were sweet and did a great job showing me features of the trucks I looked at. My favorite part was at the end, when asking if they could come down any on the price, a gentleman came in an insulted me. Knowing nothing about my background or income, he told me if I “Don’t want to pay over 60k I shouldn’t be sitting in that seat or looking at those trucks. ” It’s a shame because I only asked them to come down $1000, and I would’ve bought it if he wasn’t a jerk. With interest rates climbing and trucks becoming more available, I can’t wait to see when guys like him change face and have to learn how to treat people with respect.
