    I traded in a vehicle in May 2021. When I signed the paperwork, I was told that everything would be taken care of as far as the license plate, title, etc. Now, I'm getting letters in the mail from the DMV and Louisiana Department of Revenue stating there was a lapse in my insurance coverage for that vehicle. I explained that I no longer had the vehicle in my possession. I have called Mazda and went to the dealership multiple times, but most of the time I am told no one is available to help me. After many attempts I was finally able to obtain the Bill of Sale. It took me over 10 phone calls and me going in several times before the people at the dealership were willing to help. They just take a message and never call back. Apparently they never turned in the license plate, and now I owe the DMV over $600 for a car I haven't had in over 2 years. I was told by the dealership, however, that the plates were already canceled. I shouldn't owe the DMV anything due to Mazda's poor record-keeping and deceptive practices.

    I took my car to Mazda for an alignment service. I was told that it could not be done because the car had suspension components in the rear that needed repaired first. I paid for the service and was told when the repairs were completed I could bring the car back in and they would complete the service (no additional charge). The car was repaired and shortly after this covid-19 hit and there were stay at home orders. I also had concerns of my own to stay at home for almost 2 years as I am at high risk of getting sick due to a compromised immune system. I was not thinking of taking the car in for alignment during this time and it slipped my mind. Over 3 years later (present day) I drove the car (my wife drives this car for work) and noticed the alignment was still slightly off. I remembered that Mazda owed me an alignment so I called to make the appointment. I spoke with the service manager and was given many reasons why I should not get the service promised. I explained his reasoning was irrelevant to a service that was promised and paid for. After a lengthy conversation I was finally able to get a relevant and logical reason for the service credit being denied. I was told that if I had come in within 12 months they would have honored the service. I explained that I never was given a time limit to get the service done and I thought they should honor it. I was told again “no” that they will not honor the service. The car was repaired and is ready for the alignment service that I paid for. The dealer tried to offer many excuses why this could not be done, but explained I could pay for an alignment service and they would be happy to perform it. If they are willing to perform the alignment service at an additional charge, then all reasoning for denying my credit is irrelevant other than an expired time limit. I contend that I was never given a time limit on the credit. Mazda should either perform the service or refund my money.
