I hired one plumber from Paddocks to install a water filtration system. I had the equipment but needed the pipes and shut of valves etc. Spoke to the guy before hiring- he said he could do the install no problem and that he would have all the required supplies in his truck but if anything was missing, it was only a 15 minute drive to their office. So I made arrangements for him to come by two days later. On the day, he brought a second plumber without authorization and when the room was too small for more than one plumber at a time. I ended up getting charged for 7 hours for two plumbers including one hour when there was actually only one plumber and approx 2.25 hrs when both of the plumbers left around lunchtime for 'supplies' (2 people meant a 15 min trip was now 2.25hrs?). They reported to the company that they did not take lunch. Two people apparently were needed to get the supplies. The pipes and valves etc were really overpriced as well but I understand everything is overpriced right now. However I shouldn't have believed him that he would provide the rest of the supplies as I could have bought myself for cheaper. I asked the company about the bill as it was way higher than expected and the owner insists the bill is accurate and that I actually was charged too little since they didn't charge me enough for the supplies. He didn't care about the overcharges. The actual plumbing install, which was quoted to take a couple hours by a different plumber, ended up almost double the cost of the water filtration system. The installation seemed OK but it wasn't worth 2 plumbers for 7 hours. I feel that I was taken advantage of. They didn't do what they promised and they didn't treat me with respect. I would never have hired them if they told me I would have to pay for two plumbers or that it would be over 2 hours for supplies. Why did they think they could decide so much without my authorization and then charged me for it? Over charged approx. $500. I am too ill so can't fight it more but I am really upset with what happened.
