Review by Tony Tucker When my wife and I began searching for a company to replace the pavers in our driveway with asphalt or concrete we initially asked neighbours who had hired companies. The first estimate provided contained only a cost figure with no supporting information regarding the work to be done for the amount quoted, however, there were two pages of contract detail which we would have to agree to including a part payment up front before any work was carried out. A second company indicated that we would be on a waiting list for a quote and it was unlikely that the work could be done this year. We then approached a large paving company who advised that they did not pave driveways and they highly recommended that we contact the estimator for GW Paving and we are glad we did. He came within the day to write up the estimate, with full details. When I asked about signing a contract he indicated that Leonard, the owner of GW Paving, preferred the 'old fashioned method' - i.e. just a handshake. GW Paving would have been ready to carry out the work before we were due to our travel plans and their answer was 'That's fine - just let us know when you are ready'. Within days of letting them know they came and in two days prepared and paved the driveway and two walkways to our complete satisfaction. One of the walkways was added after the original estimate and the amount charged was extremely reasonable.
