    Scheduled a reservation through Booking.com for the days of October *****. I became injured the 21st and went to the doctor on October 22nd and had to get steroid shots in my back and shoulders. We called both Booking.com and Quality Inn and kept getting bounced around. The hotel told us we could cancel, but the cancellation fee would be the entire booking fee ( $996.70) We were informed by the receptionist at the hotel that their manager was new but she did not see a reason why we could not cancel due to a medical reason. It should be noted that my injury fell past the free cancellation time. After we were informed to contact Booking.com again by the hotel, Booking.com sent an email or some form of correspondence to the hotel to get "official approval" to refund us. No response was given. My significant other called back on Monday to the hotel and we were told we could push back the reservation date and since that date was pushed back we could cancel without penalty. We proceeded to go by their word even though no new email was sent with a new confirmation code. A couple of weeks later pass by and we call to cancel and are informed that is not an option that the new date set, November 25th or 26th (can not remember correctly), was non-refundable and they continued to keep our money. After it became quite clear the hotel would be of no use we called Booking.com and after speaking to two agents we asked for a supervisor and were told to wait and were placed on a hold and after ***** minutes we were told we would get a call back and never received one. We tried contacting the hotel again and no luck in getting a resolution. I am very irate at the fact they took my money based off the first reservation and even with having medical reasons and mentioning we could provide proof of our excuse the hotel refused to budge and we paid 10x as much as we should of just based off of the selected weekend.
