On 06/24/2024 I had a colonoscopy scheduled and went in at 7am. They took me into the registration room and the woman says that I need to pay *****. Please keep in mind I have ********** Blue Shield and have met my deductible. I said that I couldnt pay that and I was upset that they asked me that right before my procedure. Then she says okay I need half of that amount, in which I said no I cant pay that this morning. She went on with her speech and I said, if I dont give you any money am I not going to get my colonoscopy? She said no, youre still going to get procedure. My insurance company paid the entire bill. How dare they try to charge people before they send in claim!!!Unfortunately I had the same problem just a couple days ago when I was scheduled for a *** and pre- registration called and demanded money ***** . I absolutely refused!!I said my insurance company approved this procedure. I did get the *** done and they didnt ask me for a dime at the imaging facility. I feel this is so wrong and I feel bad for anyone that this happens to.

My family member is in the hospital with one broken shoulder and the other shoulder had a total shoulder replacement a week ago. Long story short.. side effects of pain meds (after her surgery) made her pass out and she fell directly on her other shoulder. So both arms in slings. Obviously she is unable to move and this place offers ZERO and I mean ZERO help to feed her. Came into ER via ambulance and was given morphine. It didnt work, but wouldnt give anything else for 8 hours. She was in excruciating pain. Keep in mind the patient is over 70 years old. After leaving ER:1. Pain meds not given on time. Nurses dont have meds ready on schedule, they have to find the meds and takes over 30 minutes.2. Techs have no idea what they are doing. Comes in trying to pick the patient up by her broken arm. 3. The charge nurse is a joke. 4. Rough movement with the patient who has a broken bone. Any movement causes extreme pain. The occupational therapist had to write a SIGN above her bed about this5. Not knowing the patients needs. Not reading notes from PT/**, doesnt know pt is diabetic and bring her non diabetic food and drinks. Sugar spiked and had to give insulin (never had to have insulin in her life). 6. The night crew comes in flipping lights on, talking very loud. 7. Bed was broken and not fixed for 4 days after the ** demanded they change it.8. Pt had to go to the bathroom and was bed ridden, got her up and f**** went everywhere and not cleaned up. It was on the patient and was sitting in it. A family member had to clean it up. 9. No one knows why the patient is in the hospital. The ** had to write a sign above the bed not to move the broken arm and that she needs help eating. Most of this people can chalk up to a bad day/staff, but this has been the same awful treatment for SEVEN days. I have spoken to the charge nurse and patient relations about all of it. No one obviously has done anything bc again tonight she was given dinner and cant eat it.

If I could give no stars I would. Their billing and billing department is not only incompetent but rude they will not answer questions nor even send out itemized billing when you ask for it .You have to pay up front and then they continue to nickel and dime you after the procedure over and over again and then when you try to ask questions about why they refuse to answer or refer you to another department which refers you to another department not honest or trustworthy find somewhere else

This hospital is the worst and would not recommend. Travel to a neighboring city to avoid being overcharged for services with incompetent billing and auditing teams. There is price transparency for emergency room bills to keep hospitals honest but even when they are clearly overcharging their "audit" process is smoke and mirrors and provide no meaningful or clarifying feedback to validate charges.

My surgeon referred me to Northside imaging for an outpatient MRI. I paid $275 at the time of service which is the full contracted amount for ******** patients. About a month later I received an additional **** from Northside for another $590, on top of the $275. I checked with my ******** advantage provider and they assured me that I did not owe any more than the $275 I initially paid. Four days later I received a notice from a debt collector that Northside had claimed I was past due on that $590 ****. I tried calling Northside billing multiple times only to be told repeatedly that this was a valid charge. I responded to the debt collector that I was contesting this billing. They still continued to follow up trying to collect this erroneous ****.

This complaint is about the business office. I have been going through treatment for a year and a half. I have had the same insurance that pays exactly the same the entire time. They randomly choose a **** and decide they don't have a contract with my insurance company. They lie and say they have spoken to my insurance company and they say there is no contract and I owe that amount. They have demanded $98k, $25k, $199k due immediately. By no stretch of the imagination would I ever owe them that amount of money. They mention financial assistance or payments. No matter how many times I tell them it is illegal for them to balance **** me, they say there is no contract. After about 10 calls, each saying they will send it back through billing, they finally figure out I'm not going to pay them what I know I do not owe. They called me during chemo yesterday. I'm sick, I'm stressed, and it is unbelievable that a hospital could treat their patients this way. Love the doctors and nurses, but the business office is a disgrace. I worry about those that won't stand up for themselves and pay thousands they don't owe...

In December, I had to go to the ** because of severe pain. I learned from them and a specialist that the Hospital recommended that I have at least 2 cysts on my left abdomen. One being at least 5 inches large and the other half it's size. My specialist wanted me to get an MRI done in order to see if I had more since the cysts were large enough to cover the right side in the Ultrasound and Northside Hospital in Forsyth was the closest to me so it made sense for me to make the appointment there. I didn't realize doing so would be such a hassle. The first appointment was very confusing and a huge bother. Originally the appointment was at 9:00 AM but I was told that my appointment was cancelled cuz the Insurance denied it. Turns out the ** never billed my Insurance place so understandably my Insurance place denied it not knowing I already got an Ultrasound first. Plus my ** visit was gonna be $5k - $6k without the insurance taking it down cuz they weren't notified so the Hospital was trying to charge my mother and I full price. (I'm currently unemployed due to Covid and the severity of this pain so my mother was the one paying for this along with the fact that I'm under her family insurance from her work) So when my Insurance place denied the appointment I was told by the Hospital that the appointment was cancelled AND I needed to reschedule. They had called me to let me know that my Insurance was cancelled at 5pm leaving a voicemail on the matter but their office closes at 4:30pm. The lady who left me the voicemail also left a different number to call her back at but she never responded and every time it asked me for a extension number it would also give me an option to click "1" if I didn't know the extension number since I wasn't given it and funny enough it would hang up the call. I thought I made a mistake so I called the number and tried again. BAM. It would hang up the call again. At this point, I gave up and was gonna call them Monday to reschedule the appointment. I head to bed and my mom wakes me up in a panic at 9:20am (the day of the "cancelled" appointment) and tells me I still have my appointment. I'm freaking out but she told me that they had called her telling her that we still had to come and that we also need to pay for everything right away. Which confused my mom and I but we went anyways only to get rudely smacked with a "Ya'll are an hour late for your appointment." My mom had thought our appointment was at 10am and thought that was even more so correct when they called her at 9:20am about this "cancelled" appointment saying we still had to come in. I've been under medication for my pain so I'm drowsy and confused and the secretary at the time was still insistent on the matter of blaming us and honestly I didn't wanna argue that we were told to still come. She even tried to get us to pay in advance for an appointment that was supposedly "cancelled" according to the secretary the day before and yet here we are told to come in anyways only to get sassed and scammed into paying even though we never even got to do the **** I decide to call them later for a rescheduling after our speaking with our insurance place and then getting it approved BUT when I called the hospital they said I would need for the Specialist to send over another order for the **** This is when I was basically playing hot potato with the Hospital and the Specialist cuz they were waiting for each other. The secretary I would speak to about my MRI appointment was adamant on it being the Specialist's fault for not sending in another order for an **** And I believed them. It's hard to get a hold of the ***************** and even my ************ doctor couldn't get a hold of them. Funny enough the ***************** informed me that they had sent another order on December 24th. I recently called the Hospital again this week and got to speak with a different secretary who was honestly very nice and informative. I made sure to double check the time with the lady that the appointment would be at 9:30am. Having repeated it a few times just to make sure cuz I didn't wanna deal with waiting another month for this MRI, I wrote it down and texted it to my mom the moment I made the appointment. The day before the appointment I got another call about paying in advance for my MRI scan. The lady who handled this call was actually very kind and informative unlike the lady who spoke with me about the same matter for the first "cancelled" MRI appointment. My mom also called the hospital back just to ask them more questions about the payment plan and even confirmed with that secretary at the time about the 9:30 appointment just to make sure AND that we didn't need to do anything in particular or prepare anything in advance for this appointment to which they said, "No." Lo and behold it's the next day and we arrive a few minutes before 9:30. We approach the desk, inform the secretary of my name and scheduled time and she stares at us like "Huh?? 9:30?" At this point I'm hoping she's just joking with us but unfortunately that wasn't the case. She then proceeds to inform me my appointment was at 8:30 and that I'm an hour late and then she starts to lecture us on how they usually have people arrive an hour early to their appointment to which I'm getting very upset. I informed her that this couldn't be since I had called and made sure several times. (8 and 9 sound very different and we had checked on several different occasions) She gave off a "I'm right. You're wrong" type of attitude and didn't even bother to consider there must have been some misunderstanding or maybe a miscommunication within the staff. Instead she was very matter of fact about it all and informed us that the 10am appointment came early so we could wait for them from like 30 minutes to 1h30m. Seeing that I can't just wait for this MRI any longer we decided to stick around. (Luckily my mom didn't work that day) As a side note, I'm getting this MRI to see how many cysts I have in my body and then I can move on to Tumor Testing. I'm trying to make sure I don't have Ovarian Cancer at 24 years old along with the fact that I had to wait till all of this is done so I can get all of the cysts removed so I've been in immense pain throughout this entire process and I had already waited a month for the **** She has us sit down and then a nurse asks us to fill out a form. The secretary called us back up and she seemed very excited to have us pay. Now the day before we spoke with another secretary about payment and were told that we didn't have to pay the full amount upfront. We could do a payment plan so upfront we would pay $390 or so AND that she would note it on our file. So when the secretary on the day of the appointment is asking us if we're ready to pay the full amount while smiling It was just crazy. My mom let her know that she spoke with someone on the matter and that we were told it was alright to do a payment plan while informing her of the amount we were told of $390 or so. The secretary seemingly wasn't listening and looked up our file or something and seemed disappointed saying "Ah yes I see that here." Handling the payment as I'm filling information out the secretary gets a phone call while SHE had called us to come to her. And then proceeds to tell us, "I'm on the phone right now so I'm gonna need ya'll to go ahead and take a seat" as if we were the ones who approached and bothered her. I guess the person on the line must have told her that she could finish up with us or something cuz then she said, "Oh no don't worry THEY can wait." I try to be nice and not say anything to her cuz I really don't want them to mess anything up cuz this is involving my health. I sit down and continue to fill out the form while also making sure my mom doesn't say anything either. Cuz I know she's not happy. I then hear from the secretary, "I told them about the 10am appointment being here early. Yeah they looked at me like I was incompetent." We're in a very quiet and fairly empty lobby. So we could hear her every word. She never once apologized about the price thing nor about the appointment time. I wasn't even blaming her over the time thing and thought there must have been a mistake. I don't know if she hates her job there or something or whatever her problem is but she is literally the face of the place she works at. Secretaries are one of the first people that anyone will talk to when they enter an establishment and for her to be like this at a hospital of all places??? It's incredibly baffling. The secretaries need retraining on human decency and empathy.
