Terrible. Company will demand a deposit and then ask insurance for unreasonable requests. *** has no intention of returning the deposit after trying to scam insurance. Take them to Walton County Magistrate ***** for a refund on deposit. DO NOT HIRE

Terrible that I paid all your money back? When we did work for getting items approved needed after insurance approved you wanted to cancel. I paid a sales rep $500 and Approx. $1500 other money spent on this claim. You walked away with full amount back and only person this cost was me. Walton County didn't ***** you a full refund i did. I said in good faith i would pay you money back when the judge would have *****ed $2000 in fees on my favor. I'm a man of GOD teachings and he doesn't want us to fight in court so i made it right for you. This review shows clearly shows your character and how you used us to get what you want then leave. We don't agree working on your home with furniture in it so we requested pack out. And you never once said this was unreasonable. But your insurance is Allstate so ill leave that there.

We should have read these reviews before we began working with SEC. I can't believe they are still in business after how they treat customers. We were given the runaround for months. They have taken our cash deposit of $3,500 and have not given us an itemized receipt on how it was spent, and now they are saying that we owe them money for doing absolutely no work on our house. When we requested an itemized receipt for how they spent the deposit, the "general manager" said that he is charging us for "his time'"which is $100 an hour and that he didn't want to bring the owner into the situation because he charged more per hour than he does! Doing what?!!??? Giving us the runaround and then being a jerk when we asked to mutually void the agreement since it wasn't working out? Im not paying him for that. His boss can pay him for that. I am so angry. We have had almost the exact same experience as the other negative reviewers. No communication. No integrity. Given the runaround, etc. Thank goodness for Yelp reviews and the Better Business Bureau. Otherwise, consumers would have no recourse. When we respectfully asked that we jointly void the agreement, they responded by threatening us and are now trying to punish us by charging us a cancellation fee for cancelling the contract after we had been treated poorly. Isn't that just a scam? They make their money through charging customers contract cancellation fees and by making up bogus charges for their time--only giving the customers a hard time. This company needs to be run out of town before anybody else gets hurt or is treated badly. I have dealt with many contractors, and I have never witnessed such unprofessionalism. Unfortunately, I am seeing this more and more.

Good morning I'm sorry your upset but I have looked over your file as the owner and im concerned why you would say the above review. All last week we helped you with coming up with new agreement because you spent the money your insurance gave you for supplements, Which then how our contract is wrote you breached this by effort we put in to get this right and this delayed project because you didn't have funds. On January 17th you reached out to us to work with you and closing attorney to be paid after you closed on the home. We came up with agreement dated 1-18-24 that you signed. It agreed to pay us $**,307.29 but said it was coming from you the seller we asked attorney to change to be paid from escrow since you have already failed to pay us properly in the past contract. We have accepted the payment of $3573.90 not in cash form but in check form with check number being **** if needed for future reference. We did send you itemized email of money and cancelation fee after you sent a email Thursday requesting to cancel. I agree with you thank you for H3**93**3343630353631H and yelp to show the truth and really what customers do then try to act like the H3**9313**03831353**3H company did something wrong. You spent money from insurance on what im not sure it wasn't for ************. nothing to punish this was a choice you made to cancel contract after we have been helping you all week. I list of emails to adjuster on how we helped you and provided services in which ****** was paid and now ***** along with the mitigation we paid. Nothing to scam here sir because we were very transparent with you. No reason to slander my business with false information. I'm willing to discuss in person with you if you would like or please give me a call ************. Here is email sent by ***** my GM. I understand your concern, but unfortunately in this situation you have breached your contract with SEC by spending the supplement payment to complete the repairs that you originally signed a contract for. I can come up with a cancellation cost but at this point it will cost you more to cancel than we have actually received. So no refund is due. $4213.59 is the cancellation cost- $3573.90 previous payment $639.69 is what you owe to cancel your contract with H3**63433313838313934H When we receive this payment and the cancellation letter is signed your contract will be cancelled. See line #6, #** and #** on the back of the contract you signed All expenses= $1,271.13 (10% of the supplement we had approved $9424.69=$942.46 + $1500 and also the $500 commission has been paid to rep that is non refundable. SEC, *** paid ******************* $1,252.38 for ********** services from the initial check as well as $18.75 to our quality control manager for supplement negotiations with your insurance company for a total of $1,271.13 add the $942.46 for supplement this is paid after supplement is approved. Total expense on your project =$2,213.59 Add $1,500 for line #** back of contractAdd $500 commission paid to Rep **** Refundable)Total to cancel=$4,213.59-$3,573.90=$639.69 This all directly from your contract no more. ****** was not in any position to make a new agreement with you outside the original agreement, that must be handled by management only. Unfortunately you became impatient waiting for this to happen and tried to push this back ontoSEC, *** as our wrong doing. Our agreement clearly states in "TERMS" section on the front that all insurance proceeds plus supplements are the contract price at which we base aur agreement on. On January 16th **** you asked for a new agreement via text with ******. We had multiple conversations about how to make it work, We run our business and process directly from our contract for protection and to relieve liability. We must have upper management and our attorney look over anything outside our contract agreement to make sure we are protected. Getting paid via escrow is not standard business practice but we did come to

Im not very optimistic filing this complaint after reviewing others. This company ) in my option is a fraud )! The practices I read are the same as my experience. The quality of work is inferior and they employ delay tactics without regard of impact to the customer. I have ********************* The Company Rep presented himself as acting for the Contractor as well a ****************** by collecting all of the money that was sent by my ****************** I did not receive a request for funds along with an invoice for payment until long after all the money was given to SouthernElite- now the Company who was not paid is threatening to place a Lien on my home for the funds ( $4,933.11)! The sad thing is I didnt contact them, both Companies showed up after an ** company was unable to convince me to purchase a new ** unit for over $10,000.00! My unit leaked and I was told I had Mold and it needed to be removed! My husband has COPD and was in ICU! After 3 weeks my house was a wreck! Dust was everywhere, carpet was not installed as promised. My husband was being discharged and I had to pay for it myself! By that time I had already paid SouthernElite all of the money I received from the Insurance including an extra $1,500.00 to have my stairs. (Told that insurance would not pay ) ! *** tried to get copies of their submissions to my ***************** for payment without success. No one will answer my questions.By the way, my husband and I are Elderly on fixed incomes- I believe this was a set-up beginning with the ** Company. I did not call them and they showed up with the Air Mitigation Equipment and the Contracting Company Rep as well! The Insurance Adjustor was and is no help! Another note: Southern Elite claims no affiliation to the ****************** ( yet their Rep picked up an Air Machine belonging to them). For those who read reviews for reference-PLEASE STAY AWAY from this Company!!!!

Also i see on file that ***** installed a handrail in our garage for free. A good deed that you agreed to liability release on. We havent place a lien on your home im not sure who this is but its not southern elite i have you paid in full to us. I want to help please reach out to me ************ im giving you a call now also.

DO NOT USE SOUTHERN ELITE! You will regret it.We were recommended SEC by the mitigation company that handle the water damage. At first it was a pleasant experience, they sent out their adjustor to review the insurance quote and talk about the process. He was very knowledge on how the insurance made their estimates and the process of getting additional supplements if needed. They also promised to send a contactor to our home with samples for both tiling & carpet that was in our budget. This was a huge bonus to us as we have four young children and having to take them to a store to pick out tiling/carpet would be a nightmare. We are also not decorates, so seeing samples in our bathroom/lighting would be a huge plus. So we decided to proceed with using SEC instead of a normal contractor that we have used in the past for finishing our basement. This is were it took a turn for the worse.SEC put in a few supplements that the insurance adjustor missed, nothing major. A soap and towel holder, so maybe an extra $50. Once insurance approved the supplements, we did not hear back from SEC until we reach out to SEC a week later. Fine, whatever, everyone is busy these days. But then we were told that they were not able to bring samples onsite. Needless to say, we were not happy with this update. I reached out to their GM of Customer Relations asking to get this resolved. The GM said there was nothing they could do and that **** was misinformed. I said fine, lets get some estimates for upgrades we wanted to do for the bathroom. Which they never sent a contractor onsite to discuss what we wanted and get measurements. The estimates were based on an email I sent with ideas and questions I had on the upgrades. The estimates were ridiculously high, we have since had another contractor come out and his estimate for the rebuild + upgrades was far less than that of the SEC. We have used the new contractor to finish our basement, so I trust that his estimate is accurate.I have reach

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY - THEY ARE:
      UNPROFESSIONAL
      *****
      ******
      ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY
NEVER DID ANY WORK YET ******* ***** WANTS HIS COMMISSON!

We had a sewage back up/flood in our basement this summer in June 2021. We were referred to Southern Elite Contracting and the ****** ***** was our contact. He came and accessed the project and measured to give us an estimate. We also had another company measure and quote. He then stated that it was easiest to send him the other company's quote and he would base his quote off of theirs. I initially thought that was odd but went along with what was asked. ****** sent us his quote and it was no different in price. Red Flag. Why couldn't he just send us his number w/out looking at anyone else's?
My husband went ahead, unbeknownst to me (I would've never done this and paid him not only a $500 deposit, but also $3000. Why? Next it took weeks before we could hear of a start date.

We ended up deciding to not replace the basement carpet but instead lay down LVF. We have a family friend source that can not only get the LVF for way less than normal cost, his labor price was going to beat Southern Elite's, so we naturally decided to go with our friend on just the flooring part for the basement floor. This seemed to really piss off ****** ***** with S. Elite. He claimed that we "have" to use S. Elite for everything per the Insurance company - ***** ***** Ummmm, so my husband called State Farm. They reiterated that we DO NOT HAVE TO USE S. ELITE FOR EVERYTHING. ********** ISSUED US THE CHECK, NOT S. ELITE.

********** said we could put whatever we wanted on the floor and use whoever we wanted and S. Elite should do whatever we wanted, whatever portion of the job we wanted them to quote and complete. It is our home, our money, they gave us the check.
In the middle of haggling with ****** and disputing the flooring and who was going to do it, ****** stated that the tile I wanted to order for the bathroom floor was going to be $300 more than what State Farm approved for cost. We said we would pay the difference, no issue.

Please keep in mind, thru all these excuses S. Elite/****** Bundy kept giving us:
      1) Manager needs to give a start date
      2) Your bathroom tile is too expensive
      3) S. Elite has to do the flooring of the entire basement and labor

WE STILL HAD ZERO START DATE AND END IN SIGHT FOR THIS TERRIBLE Cat3 disaster we had in our home!
(****** never once seemed like he wanted to do this job)

Now ****** has us jumping thru hoops in speaking to his manager, etc to get this $3500 back because we have decided to use the original company that quoted us and has been nothing but professional - **** *********** & *************
On top of all of this, wait for it - ****** is now stating that we have to forego $2k of the $3500 for him to retain his commission! LMAO. For what? He has done nothing but be a whiny little entitled unprofessional *** ***** and now trying to still get his commission!
I want to find the owner of S. Elite and share this story!

IF YOU ARE GIVEN THIS COMPANY TO USE - RUN! THEY ARE NOTHING BUT UNDERHANDED, SLEEZY CROOKS THAT TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE IN UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCES!

COMPLETE ****** ***** AND JUST WANT YOUR MONEY WITH DOING ZERO WORK. DO NOT USE S. ELITE CONTRACTING AND ESPECIALLY ****** BUNDY!
