ZERO STARS - RN SMELL OF MARIJUANA The first week of September my grandmother was admitted to Emory main facility, following complications after her surgery. Concerned about her condition, our family advised her to seek evaluation to ensure her recovery was on track. The admission process was smooth; however, upon arrival to her room, we noticed trash on the floor in both the room and bathroom. When the assigned nurse (Shekeala *****) entered, she failed to acknowledge my grandmother or anyone present, immediately proceeding to take her vitals without a word. We raised the issue of the rooms cleanliness, but the nurse ignored our concerns and left without addressing them. Upon her return, there was a strong odor of marijuana, prompting me to request a different nurse due to her unprofessional behavior and lack of empathy. I strongly urge you to conduct thorough vetting and drug testing for your nursing staff to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Please do your due diligence in looking into this nurse and make sure that she is not neglecting any other patients or under the influence of drugs while on the ****** grandmother is currently admitted at ****************, ********

I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH RACISM AS A PATIENT IN ANY EMERGENCY ROOM. NOT ONLY DID THESE RACIST NURSES AND DOCTORS DISMISS (I AM A MELANATED FEMALE) MY PAIN, BUT THEY WERE ALSO UNPROFESSIONAL, AND DISPLAYED A, "I DON'T CARE" ATTITUDE. THEY HAVE NO EMPATHY OR COMPASSION TOWARDS MELANATED PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY WOMEN. i RECORDED ALL THEIR UNCARING, AND UNPROFESSIONAL ACTIONS, AND PLAN TO EXPOSE THEIR RACIST BEHAVIOR ON SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I SAY TO USE ANOTHER HOSPITAL SYSTEM, BECAUSE THESE CLOWNS ARE THE WORST OF THE WORST. I HAD TO LEAVE AND GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL SYSTEM FOR TREATMENT, AND I RECEIVED EXCELLENT CARE AND IMMEDIATE PAIN CONTROL.

This is the absolute worst hospital! My wife had a stroke and was unfortunately in GA at the time and forced to use this hospital. I could name several issues about the hospital during the stay, but that would take pages of notes, rather, let me just explain what occurred after the stay. Calling the hospital to obtain paperwork that was never given, regarding her stay and SHOULD have been given, is impossible! No one ever answers phone. When they do, i get hung up on, as if they are not paying their bills, no one ever knows how to assist, or where to send me to assist, no one gets back to me, i have messages over and over again. No one could even verify our address and phone number. It goes on and on, but bottom line, if they cant even get issues such as this correct, it makes you wonder how screwed up their level of care is too. Its bad enough when a hospital doesnt do something correct, but to not even try to assist patient, AFTER all their mistakes is even worse! No wonder they ranked so low on the best hospital review, out of 335 hospitals they ranked like 185, makes sense!

I saw my hematologist at Emory Hospital for post-chemo consultations in august 2021. In addition to the hematologist charges(~$287), I was sent a bill from Emory Hospital for $681 with very little details. When I called Emory Hospital billing, I was told that the charges were for a procedure such as a port draw or blood draw in a treatment room. When I explained to them that I had no such procedure, they reverted their stance and said it a fee for the room in which I saw my hematologist. This $681 charge is criminally high for a 20 minute visit with my doctor. It looks like there is no one who can stop Emory from charging these exorbitant fees to patients.
