Monday 8/7/23 I went to Tammy's Dominican Salon for a wash, condition, and trim. My hair was washed three times and conditioned for 1 minute. My hair was then blow-dried then trimmed. The stylist then flat ironed my hair to style. My hair remained lengthened somewhat the following day so I didn't have to manipulate it. By Wednesday afternoon my hair was frizzy so I decided to style it per usual. My hair texture is coily & unrelaxed (natural) so it reverts back to its natural state once water/moisture touches it. I proceed to wash my hair but notice in the mirror that my hair is still straight. So I wash and rinse my hair again. Same results. I wash for a third time, this time using a different shampoo and get the same results. I wash my hair for the fourth time using a clarifying shampoo, yet no changes to my hair. Seeing my hair currently my natural curl pattern is completely gone and I have straight hair throughout my head. My hair texture is completely all over the place: some parts are curly, others wavy, and the left and back of my hair is straight. There is no uniformity. Immediately after washing and getting nowhere I begin to tear up because I have been investing so much time and money to remain natural and keep up with my hair texture. I call Tammy after to tell her about my situation. I was told to wash my hair 2-3 more times and that nothing happened to my curls, it was just because of heat. I explained to her that I'd washed my hair at this point several times with no return to my natural texture and this was not the first time I had my hair straightened. I was reassured that my curls would return and nothing to worry about. Despite being highly unsure about washing my hair and it returning to normal, I washed my hair another 3 times that evening. My hair still did not return to its natural texture. I called Tammy the following afternoon, to inform her of no progress and told THIS time to wait 2-3 weeks. I'm getting the run around now.
