    We noticed our cat behaving strangely - trying to urinate around the house - and not being able to. He was crying and clearly upset. We were concerned and contacted our regular vet who referred us to ******************** office because her office is not open on Sundays. We called ahead to confirm ******************** office was open and were advised it was open and service was first-come first-served.So we drove out to the office. It was a ******************************************* significant distress. When we arrived we saw that the door was closed and locked. A sign on the door indicated we needed to call to gain entry. We called several times before anyone answered. Finally someone answered and we were let in. It was another 10 minutes before anyone came to the registration desk to take our information. When someone did show up we were told perfunctorily they were "just in the back".We had to fill out paperwork and told to wait more before being helped. Staff told us in a rather brusque and rude manner it would be a while before we would be seen. The staff person told us the exam fee was $125 and sedation was over $200. Medicines would be additional. We were told not to leave but that we could bring in food because it would take a long time. I went next door to a restaurant to get food. During that time the vet had come in and talked to my wife, telling her what was going on, as far as they could tell. Neither of us understood the explanationd. We were given medicine, a non-conclusive recommendation, and sent away with a bill of $666.58. The next day we brought our cat to our regular vet who also examined him and found his bladder was slightly infected. They ran tests and inserted a catheter to draw out some urine for examination. They provided some pain medicine and said to keep giving him the medicine from the emergency vet. Their charge for sedation was a little over $55.We feel we have been badly treated by ******************** office, and grossly overcharged for POOR service.
