The tech that showed up was young but very nice and professional. He walked me thru his process of inserting gas into the line and then his equipment/sensor would identify where the leak was located. After about 45 minutes the tech let me know that I had NO Leak in my yard. Perhaps, I had a clogged sprinkler and recommended I clean them out.
The tech did spend about 20 minutes walking me thru his process for troubleshooting the issue which seemed logical. He even called his supervisor and they discussed what else could be done to ensure I had no leak. Unfortunately, they tried everything they knew (their processes) and could NOT FIND THE LEAK.
The next day I want to the first sprinkler in the line that had no/little pressure and made sure it was clear of debris. That did not help so I did the same cleaning process to all the sprinklers. Still no luck and I was left with no option except to start digging up my yard.
1 full day of digging working backwards from the good sprinkler to the sprinklers with no pressure I found the gushing leak. The leak was adjacent to my back patio and based on the amount of water gushing out I find it IMPOSSIBLE that American Leak Detection of NWA could not find this issue.
I spent the next 2 days fixing the broken irrigation pipe and re-routing to simplify the spray patterns and everything was fixed PERFECTLY. Sadly, I spent $400 for American Leak Detection of NWA to tell me I had no leak and another $1000 fixing the irrigation and as well as all the holes and ditches I had in my yard. This cost could have been avoided if they found the leak the first time and I would have saved time and money
I did reach out to the company an expressed my disappointment. ***** (office manager) setup a conference call with her boss, the tech, and possibly another employee. We discussed everything including what efforts / steps the tech went thru as well as the time he spent explaining what he was doing and that he could not find the leak. I believe the tech was concerned because he could not locate the leak and that is why he spent so much time with me explaining and demonstrating.
However, the outcome of the meeting was I was to send ***** pictures and videos of my dug up yard and the actual gushing leak. I sent ***** the email on 5/19/2021. I was also told the tech would schedule time to come out to my house to review what was found and how it was fixed. At this point, I did NOT want ANYTHING in return except for them to better understand my issue and find a process that would find this type of leak in the future... so future customers should NOT have my unfortunate unresolved issue.
Once the email was sent, I NEVER HEARD anything back from American Leak Detection of NWA. I let time go by to give them a chance to make things right. However, on 7/25/2021 I sent ***** another email expressing my frustration that no one responded or reach out to me to schedule time to come back to my residence. That was the only thing I wanted in return for the awful $400 service fee for nothing
In the second email I restated my issue and the promise they made me during our conference call. They fell short on their service and promise and I asked for my $400 to be refunded. I did not ask for any additional money for all the additional expenses related to the repair that could have/should have been avoided. Still no answer
I can imagine American Leak Detection of NWA will say they were too busy to respond or perhaps did not receive my emails. However, the email I used was the one provided during the conference call. Regardless, there is no reason for the tech to "no show" the following week unless he was advised to blow me off.
My only purpose for writing this BBB "review" is to provide potential customers with my negative experience & hopes that the American Leak Detection of NWA can resolve their detection process & do a much better job of customer service. And, I would still like my $400 refunded for poor service and inability to find the leak
