This is the story of James ********; With my interaction with Anchor Law firm from Bentonville, AR. I enrolled into the program in 2018 to clear up some credit card debt. I met with a representive and signed the forms. I was severed with court papers and a payment plan was set up. I paid $457.55 a month for 3 1/2 years. Made the last payment and was feeling real good until June 22, 2023. I got a phone call from my bank tell me my accounts were being garnished for debt from Wells Fargo for $ 16,328.25. I said I signed up with a law firm and this matter should have been taken care, explaining to then I made all of my payments and went to the local branch and showed them the paperwork. I called Anchor and got the run around saying 1 payment was made and the account was closed. I called Wells Fargo and they told me no settlement was reached. So my ? are. what happen to the payments I made, no communication in over 2 years from both and paperwork on the garnishment but all most of my money was taken about 10,000 dollars. I live om a small retirement and SS, so now I am wandering how I am going to live from month to month. I cancelled my health insurance, life insurance, no insulin, no pills, so maybe I can keep the water on, the gas, the electric and make my car payment, about a year to go. So my opinion of Anchor Law firm is crooks and thieves and I see I am not the only one that has been taken by them.Review from Carol K.

If I could give zero stars I would. No matter how much credit card debt you are in DO NOT sign up for a program with Anchor Law Firm. I started a 48 month program 5-1/2 years ago. I have spent countless hours on the phone with this law firm. I have been giving them $660 a month for 5-1/2 years and all of my debt is still not settled. I had a credit card that I was being sued for and provided Anchor Law Firm with countless paperwork and made so many calls to their service center. The litigation team never responded to the many summons I sent them and I was served with papers at my place of employment because my paycheck was going to be garnished over $300 a week for 13 weeks. Anchor Law Firm did nothing to prevent this. I fell behind on my mortgage payments and lost my home that I had owned for almost 11 years. My credit has been ruined and after 5-1/2 years my credit score is so low. I had one account left, they saved the biggest one for last and it wasn't until I called that someone finally tried to obtain a settlement offer. The offer was for 6 payments and because I had extended the program more than once if they continued to receive the drafts the last account would be paid without me having to provide additional funds. When I called to accept the offer I was advised that there would not be enough money in my account and I would have to provide an additional monthly amount of over $500. That's on top of the $660 a month I was already paying. I received a settlement offer directly from the collection agency and removed my last credit card from Anchor's program. I requested a 17% refund because they didn't settle the account and I am paying it on my own. To my dismay my refund request was denied. DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY PROGRAM WITH ANCHOR LAW FIRM BECAUSE THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND AND YOU WILL BE WORSE OFF IN THE LONG RUN. Please read the other customer reviews, they are all the same. People get scammed for money and Anchor Law Firm ruins your life!Review from Candi E

I've been under contract with Anchor Law Firm since 2018 my contract was suppose to end June 2022. I was told (shame on me for not reading the FINE PRINT) that my contract was for 4 years and it might not even take that long. They have extended my payments to them without even consulting me. When I called and ask how can they do that without my permission I was told in the contract it allows them to. I have 2 more cards left and I haven't heard from them about settling. I have been calling since August. All I get is we are working on it. This is absolutely the WORST company I have ever dealt with. I see no end in my future.... but every month they take over 100 dollars for FEES out of the 600 dollars I pay.... so Add up 100 times 53 months not to mention the first two years Anchor kept ALL my payments for their FEE for helping me get out of debt. So why would they want me to finish my contract when I give them at least 100 a month to do nothing. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IT HAS F RATING FOR A REASON ....IF I COULD GIVE THEM A ZERO RAITNG I WOULD!!!!!!!!Review from Christopher R

I started in a debt settlement program with anchor in late 2018 and thankfully graduated from the program in 2021, but it didn't go smoothly. I entered into the program with 3 accounts to settle. For the first year and a half, things seemed to go okay. Two of the three accounts reached settlement agreements and I entered into repayment as expected. The third account however made no progress. In January of 2021 I was issued papers that I was being sued for the third account. I contacted anchor's litigation department as instructed and was told they would assign an attorney to the case and they would handle everything. Then when it came time for a response to be given to the court I learned that no attorney had responded. So I had to rush to the courthouse to give the response myself. Months passed and no progress was made and I grew worried that the court case would end up with them garnishing my wages. So I reached out to the creditor and in a half hour call reached a settlement I was happy with. Case settled without anchor s help. Then it was like pulling teeth to get them to end the program since my third account was settled and withdrawn and the other 2 accounts had been paid off. Considering the fact that anchor took a fee at the beginning based on the total amount to be settled (before paying any creditors), I ended up paying them for roughly half of the settlement amount that they didn't even help with in the end. I'm just glad to be done with them. Lesson learned and warning to others, don't let creditors scare you. They are far more reasonable to deal with than you would think and will ultimately save you more money than paying places like anchor to handle the stress for you (which they fail to do and end up adding more on top of it).Review from Shirley S

My husband and I signed an agreement with Anchor Law Firm in August 2018. It was for 42 months at $305.63 a month. My husband passed away in October 2022. I called the office and was told that my last payment would March 2022. And there wasn't anything else I needed to do. When a payment came out in April, I called the firm and was told that two of the 5 account were not settled and it would take approximately another $5000 to settle!. No one from the law firm contacted us about any of this. I was and still am in shock!. I feel we were cheated. I have asked for complete breakdown down of the funds to see exactly where and how they were distributed. When I add up what was taken out and the charges and the pay off., I find a $2000. difference. Where is that money?Review from Natalie B

Enrolled in program, making payments to firm to settle accounts, firm sending payments apparently to wrong place managing payments. I opted out of program in July of this month, was told this card was settled.Never got a settlement letter,so I called in August and was informed that payment was going to the wrong place, thus not settled, as I had been told it was. Now I have that credit card company's attorney notifying me of money due,I called Anchor and notified them, they acknowledged this mistake and told me they would return my call, never called me back. I called them again today after 3 weeks of not hearing from them, spoke with a rep who acknowledged the error, then informed since I was no longer a client ,nothing they could do since I had opted out of the program. This error was their fault, and occurred WHILE I was in the program.VERY DISSAPPOINTEDReview from Ruby N

I had been with Anchor Law Firm since June 2018. I had never missed a payment since then. Their customer service is really hard to get a hold off. it takes at least an hour in order to speak to a Customer service and when you get to speak you do not get a definite response on your inquiry or case. So far they had settled 3 accounts which has lower balances. I have been sued 3 times, appeared in court once, defaulted once and now facing another default for a case that I thought was settled in February. Negotiations and settlement were signed in February and that payment will start March, now i just received a summon from the banks lawyer that it was defaulted because no payments from Anchor were made since March.
