On May 2, 2023 I visited this hotel location and booked a (2) night stay using 60,000 points. After obtaining my key and going to my room, I began to clean my room via lysol wipes for hard surfaces. Upon cleaning the room, I found a bottle cap on the floor and other debris that would have been taken away if the room had been thoroughly cleaned. Upon checking the bed as I pulled it from the wall, I found a dead bedbug. I immediately took photos and call the front desk to inform them of the issue. The two front desk staff on May 2, 2023 was very helpful and concerned. They were apologetic for the issue. I appreciated that and as a result, I decided to not make it an issue. I had a business dinner that evening and informed that that I will return back to the hotel after dinner commenced. In our conversation, she offered to transfer me to another guest room. On May 3, 2023, at 10:02AM I emailed the hotel's general manager Alecia Linahan advising her of the incident. On May 4, 2023, around 1:30PM I still had not heard from the hotel's general manager, whom should have initially reached out me and not the other way around. I called the hotel and spoke to a male front desk staff member (not wearing name tag) and the phone disconnected after asking to speak with Alecia. I decided to visit the hotel on my lunch break after my phone call was not returned. Alecia was rude and dismissive in her statement(s) about the room and hotel not having bed bugs because her “cleaners thoroughly check everything during the cleaning process.” I asked Alecia had she received my email and she advised that she did. In addition, while standing there for less than 10 minutes of a face to face conversation, she stated/ asked “well what is it that you want from me? An apology? Because I am not going to be here standing all day." I am pretty sure that being a black man concerned about the lack of professionalism from Alecia, did not help in my case.
