Read Before You Sign

There is no better way to protect yourself than to read and thoroughly understand an agreement before you sign. Then is the time to change the agreement by adding or removing conditions that you are unwilling to agree to, or not what you bargained for. All parts of the agreement should be completed before the contract is signed. If something is changed or altered on the contract, be sure to initial it, showing that you approved the change. When you get a promise in writing, make sure you understand what it really means. After signing, be sure to keep a copy of the agreement. Your copy of the contract is the only proof you have of the conditions of the agreement.
