I agree with prior reviews that this bank has the worst customer service and lots of fees for issues that are caused by the bank ITSELF by holding on to transfers of funds for several days before they become "available". This appears to be scam by the bank to make money. Homestreet says they take customer complaints seriously, but they definitely do not. Actions speak louder than words.Review from sunday w

Was not the worst bank ever when I joined, but has become one after ten years. Decline in customer service due to local branches having less power to settle ANY issues (overdrafts, freezes, stop payment, hold on checks, etc.). Increasingly charges more and more for EVERYTHING (overdrafts, out of network atm use, check reordering, wire transfer fees). I had an issue with a ten day hold the corporate office placed on a funds coming from my own retirement account. Recently, when someone called to offer me a "courtesy call" about my account being overdrawn I comforted the person by saying "No worries, my payroll check will be auto deposited the next day. I am sure Homestreet Bank will collect their fee just as they do for everything else." The employee's response, "You could close out your account." So, rather than even attempting to keep an unhappy costumer, yet a customer they really make money off of, they would rather loose my business all together. However, I am not surprised. I have only remained loyal due to the amazing staff at the local branch in ********, **********. However, I am sure many of those employees are miserable and unhappy with the changes in Homestreet Bank also. I would not be surprised if corporate sent me a letter saying they were closing my account due to negative reviews.HomeStreet Bank Response

Homestreet Bank is the worst bank I've ever dealt with. They did not explain to my teen daughter that they would be taking money from her savings account. She makes minimum wage and did not realize they took $15 two months in a row and most recently, $40 in fees. When she and I realized what was happening and asked for a courtesy waiver of any of the fees, they declined. It feels like they stole $70 from my daughter's account and now we have no recourse. We will be closing all our accounts there as soon as it is feasibly possible without having more fees incurred. Stay far away from this bank. They have terrible customer service and will impose fees without warning or notification. Terrible!!HomeStreet Bank Response

This bank is Robbing people of their money by charging ATM fees and stealing money for transactions that never happened and also, when you close your account they charge you for sending a Cashiers Check that the Phone Rep never mentioned **** S*** about.Good Luck trying to get your Funds Back by these Theives.HomeStreet Bank Response

Wouldnt even give this bank one star One problem after another with this bank and now I have been waiting 2 weeks for a new card because they told me I had fraudulent activity on my card and here we are 2 weeks later and they tell me that they never ordered a new card. Now I have to wait 2 more weeks unless I want it expedited for a ***** charge on their mistakeHomeStreet Bank Response

HomeStreet Bank takes customer complaints seriously. When this issue was brought to our attention, we immediately contacted the customer, apologized for the debit card confusion, and worked with her to resolve her concerns.

Stay away from Home Street Bank particularly if you want a mortgage and want a lender in the ***************** area. We just had a frustrating and disappointing experience with them when we co-signed a mortgage.They made an assumption about the down payment amount that wasnt accurate resulting in many of the numbers on the various documents being wrong. It took quite a while to get them to correct the amount.It apparently took them weeks to look at documents sent to them. We had our documents sent from our local Home Street branch to the Bainbridge branch. A couple of weeks later we were told that quite a few pages were missing.They told us things that werent true. I asked if the closing costs could be rolled in with the mortgage and was told yes both verbally and via email. This turned out not to be true.I asked several times if we could pay the insurance and property taxes ourselves and not use escrow. I was told we could but it wasnt until at least the third conversation with them about this that we were told we could but they would raise various fees and it would cost us over $900 more in closing costs.Various fees kept increasing. The appraisal fee started at $700; went to $850 then to $1050 finally settling at $1000.I asked a number of questions about these things. They stopped replying to my emails and returning my phone calls. We were told all communication had to go thru a third party. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!Review from JAMES M

Homestreet Bank stole my money and cancel my bank account when they made the mistake I been a customer with ********************** for over 3 years depositing my Uber driver check into my account everyday And this branch treated me like a piece of trash off the street All the employees was Hispanic and I'm African American decntReview from Blake R
