I have been a customer with ********************** for almost 10 years after leaving **** of America. I've had nothing but great experiences with them up until now. I am a 28 year old African American women who recently applied for an auto loan through Navy Federal 4 times and was denied each and every time. The reason for the denial stated that I have "bad credit" or "do not meet the credit criteria" However, I have a 730 score, excellent payment history, multiple accounts open on my credit (which they said I did not have enough open accounts so it was negative impact to why they denied me). To add insult to injury, one of their representatives without even seeing my credit report implied that I did not meet the credit requirements or had the income, which neither are true. This has been an overwhelming, stressful, and tiring situation trying to get an approval through Navy Federal to get the car I want. I'm highly considering removing all my money with them and going to a different credit union. It's extremely disappointing to feel so discriminated against with my own bank.
