I am writing to formally express my concern and dissatisfaction with Ally Bank's policy requiring customers to provide a traditional physical home address as a permanent address in order to access banking services. As someone who resides in an RV park, I believe that this policy unfairly discriminates against individuals who choose non-traditional living arrangements, including RV dwellers, tiny home residents, and others who do not conform to the outdated notion of "permanent" housing. While I understand that federal regulations such as the USA PATRIOT Act and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) impose certain Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements for anti-money laundering purposes, I believe there are more inclusive methods of compliance that do not prejudice individuals living in RVs or similar circumstances. Many states, including ***** and *******, recognize RV parks as legal residential addresses for various official purposes, such as voter registration, vehicle registration, and tax purposes. Therefore, I see no valid reason why Ally Bank cannot accommodate RV parks as valid residential addresses for banking services. This policy creates an unnecessary and burdensome barrier for a growing population of U.S. residents who live in RVs and other mobile homes. By denying these individuals access to basic banking services or requiring alternative, cumbersome solutions like mail-forwarding services or using a family member's address, Ally Bank is creating a systemic bias against non-traditional living arrangements. This is particularly concerning given that a significant number of Americans are adopting these lifestyles, either out of necessity or by choice.Review from Ben G

Has good products and accounts but terrible support and policies. I was a happy customer for years before they both closed my accounts and banned me for life. I asked why I was banned and was told vaguely that it was due to 'suspicious behavior.' I explained and offered to prove I was exclusively transferring money to other accounts in my name, but they were unyielding in their absolute lifetime ban, without trial or consideration. I wish they would reconsider because I did nothing wrong.Review from Desiree I

Horrible experience. Been with this bank for a couple of years, and as soon as I can Im closing the account. This bank just has scripted formalities they read off and never offer any resolve for the customer. The features that they offer NEVER work the way they should. Then instead of helping you as a customer, they will villainize you and treat you like a criminal. Im a 1099 worker and I receive payroll checks from multiple places. I always deposited them through mobile app. The last time I did this, my check was flagged by loss prevention and my account was blocked. There is nothing really worth while in having an account with this bank. Please check elsewhere to get the best service and ALL your actual banking needs met. Dont waste your time!Review from kae g

This the worst company ive EVER been with and I have at least 3-4 credit cards with a 730+ credit score! These people will hold your money for 30+ days if you over pay, then tell you theyll mail the check, wont do it until 10 days AFTER the 30 days then tell you to wait another 30 days plus the 10 days to mail it again once you tell them you never received it. I closed this account in July because of this BS and I still have yet to receive the $500 I over paid! This the worst type of company to EVER work with and I will report them everyday at this point cause its starting to feel like stealing and its a finance company like I NEVER had them wait this long on a payment or ever been late so Im confused wheres my money!?Review from Amber G

If I could give a negative I would. They accepted my full payout from a total loss vehicle instead of the payoff amount. I found this out after waiting for the check that was shown sent on my insurance app. Now **** even agrees they shouldnt have accepted full amount but I have to wait 15 business days to process. We are talking around $5,000 they owe me. Also put the payoff date as yesterday (when I called to find out what was going on) instead of 7/31 when I sold it to my insurance as a loss. I was $788 behind once and they came and picked up my vehicle. Now they want to hold thousands from me that they should have never accepted.Review from Marla J

Trash! DO NOT RECOMMEND 0/10 stars!!!!. Opened a bank acct. with ********************** on 07/22/2024 spoke with customer care (cc) on the same day. I advised cc that i needed to deposit an e-check into the acct. I deposited the check at 9am MST and it took them until the next day for $300.00 apox. to be available pending processing of the remaining amount. The worst part was that I had no access to the money in my account whatsoever. They only offer to send you a physical debit card within 5-7 business days but don't provide you with a virtual card or the card details so you can add to apple pay wallet. I insisted that they send my debit card next business day since they have no other options but snail mail and Ally Bank had the audacity to say that i have to pay $15.00 to expedite the shipping and delivery not to next day but 3-4 business days. Asinine that a business in the 21st century is still operating like a brick and mortar bank but without any of the benefits. I inquire with cc about transferring money from one bank act. to another outside bank acct. they said it would take 1-3 business days and that's after the acct. has been verified which takes another 1-3 business days. The other option that they are deceptive about is Zelle. Zelle at any other bank is an instantaneous payment from one person to another but not Ally Bank the recipient wont receive the money until the next day . This information is not disclosed to you before you open the acct. you have to just find out about it when you try to use the feature. As far as I'm concerned Ally Bank is not technologically equipped or advanced enough to be serving customers as a so called online bank at all. I had ********** for years and have NEVER experienced these types of delays accessing my own money before. Zelle payments at Chase instantaneous. Once my money clears I'm closing this acct. and never looking back.Review from Christopher C

Ask to speak to someone about a letter I received. After 8 calls 3 to customer service, 3 to some bankruptcy line, 1 to some redemption line only to be told to call another line in remarketing Im at lost how they operate with the lights on. WORST SERVICE EVER. This was all done because I asked one question to representative with Indian dialect about a check I was supposed to be receiving.Review from Katura H

When a representative provides an incorrect address for an auto payment there is a problem. This was my experience recently and I do not feel confident they will rectify the issue.
