Prior to this review, I have never written a negative review for the Better Business Bureau. It somewhat disturbs me to have to write my first. However, I feel it is my duty to the community. I purchased a new 2023 Bronco Big Bend on the April 22, 2023 at approximately $12,000 above MSRP. Approximately two weeks later, I drove up in an unpaved driveway and found a half inch thick tree branch sticking out of my rear passenger tire. This obviously was due to a tire wall defect. The Bronco is touted to be a serious off-road vehicle able to rock climb and handle other jagged terrain. A twig should not be able to destroy the tire (this occurred going up an unpaved driveway; the car was never taken off-road). I returned to the dealership and requested that the tire be replaced. The General Manager (Jason Mummau) was extremely rude in dealing with me. I've not experienced such an astonishing display of unprofessional and unbusinesslike behavior in a very long time. He stated that the warranty does not cover tires and that I would have to buy a new tire - no discount or courtesy sharing of cost with the dealership (despite having purchased the vehicle just 2 weeks earlier at over 25% above MSRP). The price they quoted for 1 tire is $313.38 (nearly $50.00 above the price of the next most expensive tire outlet). Of possible interest to the BBB is this business' reputation of gouging prices greatly above MSRP (as was the case with me), especially in dealing with the elderly. Needless to say, I will never purchase another vehicle from Chapman Ford. I only hope that this review will help prevent other folks from having a similar terrible experience.
