My ignition key got stuck on my 2005 ******* ***** ****. I removed the key, but the key did not go back in. I replaced the lock cylinder and PK3 receiver. I tried to do the relearn procedure, but it didn't work and set off a security feature which wouldn't allow the relearn procedure to finish. 12/13, I called McIntyre to tow it. I asked them to reset the security system with their **** * system and I would finish the repair. Their technician began diagnostics on other items that were fine. The keys were original. Too worn to function. I told them I had a PK3 receiver, but they replaced the Passkey receiver with a new one ($176.50 parts + labor). They said I needed a shifter. The old shifter was fine. It needed a new key cut ($33.21). They charged ($945 for labor to install parts I didn't need). All I should have had to pay was ($150 for towing) + 1 hour ($105) to reset the security system + new battery ($150,89) and cutting a key ($33.21). After performing $892.27 of work, they called and said car was ready. The car didn't turn over. They did more work I didn't authorize. Car still didn't start. They cut a new key; the car started. My bill should have been 287.21 plus tax. They wrote down the wrong mileage 285,701. The actual mileage was 292,600. 6,899 less than was on the vehicle which reduced any warranty period. These unscrupulous business practices must be stopped. I was overcharged about $1372 for unnecessary parts, labor and taxes. The had my vehicle for nearly a month. It was a 2-hour repair at a reputable business plus towing. Instead of cutting a key first that ultimately fixed the problem, they were replacing the most expensive parts first and doing diagnostics on things that were not a problem. I only authorized the tow and the security reset. I told them I would do the rest once the security system was reset and the key would turn the car on and off. They did not follow my instructions and forced me to pay before I could have my keys back.

Chevrolet dealer charged x what should have for a rear brakes , quoted me 400$ I told him I can get the parts for less than 150$ He told me to get them and bring them in. Before I bought them I called to verify what was needed I got a call later saying those parts won’t fit and I needed my vehicle by the end of the day so had them install his parts and charged me 550$ Also while I was there heard him call another gentleman and told him he needed brakes and rotors front and rear - 1200$ Sounds like a great racket to me , totally disgusted with these people!
